Summary

One fortysomething mama with an empty nest. One middle-aged witch who fights wraiths. For each of the Sanders sisters, looking at her twin is like gazing at her reflection in a funhouse mirror—warped, twisted, and a little bit scary.

Donna Sanders has done everything right. She has created a successful home-organizing business and distanced herself from her crazy twin—the witch of Shadow Cove. Donna is completely blindsided when her husband locks her out of the house and demands a divorce. With nowhere else to turn, Donna moves back to her childhood home, a creepy gothic house on the outskirts of town. The cauldron of bats in the attic she can handle. The ghost of the passive-aggressive Southern debutante doesn’t faze her. But living with her sister and her endless parade of witchy secrets is a fate worse than death.

Donna’s only reprieve is flirting with Axel, her sister’s handsome and much too young for her personal assistant. But even the sexy younger man is more than what he seems. Can this late-blooming witch learn to embrace her gifts and find love before Bella’s dark past catches up with them both?

Midlife Magic Mirror is book 1 of the Legacy Witches of Shadow Cove series. If you like supernatural tales about magical destinies, midlife shifts, and bonds of sisterhood, you don’t want to miss USA Today bestselling author Jennifer L. Hart’s bewitching book.

An absolutely wonderful book.

An absolutely wonderful book. Both the characters and the plot are very well written. It has emotions, humour, action, and suspense, and is flawlessly narrated by Jacqueline Rendell.

A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my own.

This is no fairy tale

I enjoyed this book on my kindle and jumped at the chance to relive the adventure, so glad I did because I loved it just as much. This author is so good at creating damaged characters that you can't help but get emotionally attached too, which sucks you into the story and keeps you listening or reading. The damage in this book is the trauma of rape, which has already happened and there is no sex scenes in this book....as for the violence, well does demon killing really count? Okay there is nothing graphic or gross and it is handled with care and compassion. The story is very character driven but with the magic and demon fighting its so much more. There's the bond between two sisters, with a side lesson not to judge a book by its cover. This author continues to write entertaining stories. The story and subject matter is well written and told by both sisters, so the story does jump around but I think it really works and makes it a compelling read. I can't wait to jump into the next book in the series.
When Donna comes home to find her husband has changed the locks and is demanding a divorce she has no choice but return back to the twin sister she had turned her back on. While when her sister Bella needed help, she did the unthinkable and made a deal with the devil. Now they need each other. Can Bella save her unborn children and still protect her legacy? Will Donna finally except that she is not damaged and return to her families Destiny by unleashing her magic? With someone trying to open a portal to the underworld, the sisters will need to work together if they want to survive the attacks.
I like the narrator. She gave each character they own individual and unique voice which helps transport you into there world.
