About this listen
Hard Duty: Sixteen billion dead. In humanity's last brush with the Merkiaari, it was nearly wiped out in a war that spanned decades. When survey ship captain Jeff Colgan discovers a new alien race, he's required to investigate. But what if the life form is as deadly as the Merkiaari?
As the aliens discover Colgan's ship and begin to hunt him down, the captain's mission changes from one of study to one of survival.
What Price Honor: Nanotechnology was all that kept humanity afloat in their brutal war against the Merkiaari, and it led directly to the creation of vipers, a regiment of cyborg super soldiers tasked with protecting the Alliance. When Gunnery Sergeant Gina Fuentez finds one of the fabled viper cyborgs in a terrorist camp during a mission, her squad comes under attack. Two members of her squad are dead, and she'll face the same fate if she can't escape the ensuing firefight.
Operation Oracle: General Burgton's self-imposed mission is to safeguard the alliance from future Merkiaari attacks. As the black missions Burgton authorizes begin to fail, he spends trillions of dollars on a forbidden solution: artificial intelligence. When the project collapses, Burgton compounds his crime. If he can't build an AI, he'll just have to steal one!

Good and unexpectedly so
This 3 book series started off as an exciting space battle and looking at the book covers expected it to continue on this vein. But it didn't! The battle went to ground and separated in many different directions. For me it worked! I would have enjoyed a continuing space war maybe it will return?
So in short good 3 books it's not the saga of the seven suns but well worth 3 credits even though it cost me just 1

A long book, but worth the listen.
What made the experience of listening to Merkiaari Wars Series the most enjoyable?
How the story is told on multiple fronts. My favourite parts were the super human vipers.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Viper Eric. This is the first enhanced soldier that we are introduced to, and it shows just how powerful the vipers are.
What about Mikael Naramore’s performance did you like?
A pleasure to listen to. Distinctive voices made each character easy to distinguish from the others.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
They will return

Fantastic
Already owned and loved the books. Thought I would venture into the world of audio books, and I am very glad I did. Mikael does a fantastic job as the narrator, bringing the story alive. Great narrator, great story, well worth a try.

well worth listening to
the hours whisked by, well read, decent story, unexpectedly structured. my only gripe is perhaps a couple too many main characters which means occasional confusion and not quite enough character development for us to fall in love with them all. I will be reading more.

A good start to the series, following different story lines that will hopefully come together in book 2 and 3, which is included in this omnibus collection.

Great story!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would not recommend this book to any friend, but just those that love sci-fi. Fantastic performance with a wide range of characters makes for a great listen.
What did you like best about this story?
I like when humanity has reached the stars and lives on multiple planets, fighting the be-all end-all plague of the galaxy!
Have you listened to any of Mikael Naramore’s other performances? How does this one compare?
As allways his performance is outstanding.

Another Great SiFi Story
Where does Merkiaari Wars Series rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Just enough Sweat Tears etc, to keep me listening, its been a while since I've been so well entertained. The tech was just enough to entice my imagination, but I can accept more if the writer has it. Very well narrated too, I will be ordering the others in this series.

Excellence through Speaker
Another masterful collaboration from Mark and Mikael.
The story and narrator work very well together and 3 books in 1 go is an excellent deal.
The people , alien life , and others come alive as your not long in being caught up with the fate of the characters even the usual bad aliens.
The fight for survival in a world where even the heroes in this case Vipers and the aliens fight for recognition and the respect from their peers bring a level to the storytelling that will im sure make you an instant fan. The popularity of this series will bring you into a world which will have many more books im sure.
