About this listen
Maturing as Ambassadors of Jesus, the second book in the trilogy series, is a riveting story of Marion Mike Menning telling of God's leading in the second part of his life.
Mike learned to read at age 25 and went to college. He started his own business and was elected to the Minnesota State House, and at age 31, he was elected State Senator. Mike and his wife, Dawn, were blessed with two wonderful children, a son who is bright and healthy, and a son born with severe brain damage. He tells the gut-wrenching story of carrying out a home-based therapy program to improve the life of their brain-injured son.
He ran for Governor and experienced a sabotaged campaign by a southern state KKK. After earning a Master's Degree, Mike served the Lord in full-time ministry for 35 years. Mike and Dawn moved to Utah to serve as the pastor of a Christian church in Salt Lake City. Later he founded a ministry serving people in the polygamist culture of Utah. Pastor Menning retired from full-time ministry at age 76 and finished writing the trilogy, Ambassadors of Jesus. Mike and Dawn walked with God through deep valleys and mountain peaks. The book closes with his thoughts of what he imagines heaven to be, all from a biblical point of view.
