Summary
Scott Sebastian is a liar.
Fitting, since I'm a liar too.
Yet there's no place for me in his glittering world of half truths.
With all our secrets in the open, I should stop trying. What I've learned should send me running far away. I can’t keep pining for a man in love if I’m not the woman he’s in love with.
But it's not that easy to escape the Sebastians. I already knew they owned this city.
Now I'll find out if they also own their son.

Great characters and an enjoyable story
Really enjoyed this little duet. I liked the characters and the story. My favourite was the grandpa, he was great and Jacob did a great job distinguishing the character's voices. He's such a great narrator, they both were.
This book has ruined me though for other audibooks though because the duet narration was so great, listening to a female put on a male's voice no longer give the same feels.
Wish more audiobooks have duet narration.

What a great way to end a fantastic new duet!
It’s rare that I get so excited about a new book series but oh my life this is a goodie! This is the conclusion to the Man in Charge Duet and all those twists and turns and loose ends are tied up nicely in a pretty bow by the end. There are lies upon lies and Tessa discovers she’s not the only one who’s been telling them. The chemistry between these two is ridiculous. Laurelin can most certainly write a scene. The filth that comes out of their mouths, yes please to dirty talk, I am so here for it. The story and the characters are developed from mere descriptions to people you are invested in. You want love to prevail, against all odds. You can’t help but hope the sacrifices made weren’t in vain. This writing is impressive and I am thirsty for more. I have no idea whose book is next but I need it. It will be an easy one click preorder for me.
I have absolutely loved the duet narration by Emily and Jacob. You could feel the energy between them. It made the story and the emotions so much more believable. There was a little more from Scott’s point of view in this one so we go to hear the many voices of Jacob in all their glory. Stellar performance by both narrators, a great choice of voice actors to show us all the colours of Tessa and Scott’s relationship. And as a little bonus there are some hilarious outtakes at the end. Who doesn’t love a good blooper?! I know I do.

Great performances by the narrators but such a predictable ending
The story became too predictable with a really weak second half. Ended up a bit disappointed! It’s a shame as I really loved
