About this listen
Heartwarming and hysterical, a musician mum juggles the demands of family life, showbiz and autism. Perfect for fans of Why Mummy Drinks and The Unmumsy Mum, and TV shows such as The A Word and Atypical.
Your family doesn't fit the mould. So what?
Lucy had it all: an exciting career, a rock-star husband, great friends, a size-10 waist and pelvic floor muscles that could crack a walnut. And then, she had kids.
Since giving birth to her second child, Lucy's life is totally unrecognisable. A 'flab-alanche' hangs over the top of her jeans, the romance in her marriage is officially dead and so is the career it took her years to build. Instead of playing the cello behind superstars at packed-out arenas, Lucy now spends most days mopping up broccoli vomit whilst listening to her four-year-old recite tedious facts about the gall bladder.
M Is for Mummy is a frank and funny story about a unique family who don't quite fit in to any mould in society, and about a mother doing everything she can to help her extraordinary son find his place in an ordinary world.

Laughed and Cried!
M is for Mummy is a wonderful book that made me laugh out loud, and also made me cry so be warned if listening to this on the tube! The reader was fantastic and really brought this book to life. Loved the whole thing and can't wait for her next book.

lighthearted
A really easy, lighthearted book to listen to. Some proper laugh out loud moments and also some heart wrenching ones. Really well written and lovely audio.

Utterly fantastic clever and hilarious
This isn’t my usual genre but I seen it recommended by the stories about autism blog and have an autistic son myself I thought I’d give it a go and I’m so glad I did. I found it a fantastic listen and listened to the full book in one day, I didn’t want it to end. I loved how the author described interacting with her autistic son and really supporting and getting into his passions with him. There were so many laugh out loud moments which made me positively chuckle and I couldn’t believe how relatable it all was. Highly recommend!
