Summary

Wilder,

When I left that night, I had every intention of coming back to you. To us. But no matter how hard I wish for what I want, there are some things in life that aren't meant to be. I don't expect you to understand. You've already moved on, living your life. But mine ended that night, nine years ago, and I still can't let you go. Not sure I ever will. I regret so many things, but hurting you, I'll never forgive myself. I'm sorry for...everything.

Jax

Jax,

If only you could've seen it like I did, the way you were when you thought the world wasn't watching. How you'd change when I looked at you, when it was just us. But most of all...I wish you could've seen how much it hurt me when you disappeared. Regrets are for cowards. It has always been my belief you should chase after the things you want with actions, not words. There is no such thing as never meant to be.

So this apology...not accepted....

Love always, Wild

Lovely story

I enjoyed this whole story and found the second chance love an absolute delight. I laughed and I cried with heartbreak and with joy. These narrators are easy to listen to, born for this role.

Liked one narrator but the other? Not so much...🙁

Well, I enjoyed it but didn't really connect with Tim Paige, one of the narrators, which was pretty annoying as his character was one of the MC's and the story was in dual POV. He had what I would call a deep Southern drawl, and the sound for his recording wasn't always that brilliant. Kirt Graves was good as usual, and his Southern accent was higher pitched, so wasn't as difficult to understand. Does Tim Paige really have a Southern drawl?? No idea, but I do remember he was the main reason I didn't finish the audio for Without You by Marley Valentine. He may well be a perfectly nice chap 😉, but his narrations are a no-no for me in future I'm afraid. 4 stars.

***Book Review***

4.5 stars from me. My third A.M. Johnson read, and strangely enough, I preferred her M/F sequel story Seven Shades of You to Let There Be Light. There is a lot of love in her reads, and this particular story is no exception.

We have a wonderful second chances read, due to the dreadful events that occurred in Jackson [Jax]'s life. I'm honestly not sure why he didn't get in touch with Wilder though to at least explain his predicament...do we treat that as non-communication? I suppose so, but they were obviously made for one another - the love jumped off the page at you, and thoroughly deserved their HEA. Yes, there were some characters that were complete muppets, bigoted and backward in their views, but I didn't concentrate on them, I gave my full attention to Jax, Wild and Jason [Jax's brother, and the main reason Jax did what he did].

I understand that Anders will be getting a story of his own in due course, and I just LOVED little Gandalf, Rosie and the email/text convos between Wild and Jax...June, Gwen and Ethan weren't too shabby either.

Good

If you don’t like a story where they’re not together for almost half of it, this won’t be for you, and I struggled with the long email addresses back and forth (probably needed changing for the audio book), but the overall story was good. It’s one of those frustrating reads though where you just want something to change and I nearly gave up for a bit but glad I stayed with it. I’d of liked a bit more ending to the story before the epilogue but the HEA was good.

This story unfolds beautifully

Loved the story. It was beautifully written. All the characters had their place and made the landscape richer and more realistic. The narrators were great. Will read more from this author!

Emotional and heartfelt. A must read!

Emotional and heart warming story packed with lots of chemistry and steam.
Wilder and Jax’s story is heartbreakingly beautiful and a well win HEA.
This as more than a coming out story. It’s about love and acceptance, devotion and the sacrifices made, about change and the relevance of some many facets of life.
My first book by AM Johnson and I’m already a fan of her story telling.
Narrators did a stellar performance.
I’d recommend this audiobook and story 💯

just managed to finish

This is a new author to me and decided to purchase it because of the narrator Tim Paige. It was hard going and at times very hard to follow

Amazing second chance story

This story was so good. I loved every minute of it. Wild and Jax were perfect. I felt so sorry for Jax he had the weight of the world on his shoulders and felt like things that had happened in his life were his punishment for loving Wilder.

Wilder and Jax story is beautiful and heartbreaking, and the journey to their happily ever after was a rocky one, but its so worth it.

I loved the narrators for this book. The accents made me enjoy it even more, and even thoughbthey bothbhad a southern drawl, you could tell the characters apart.

I couldn't recommend this book enough it's an emotional rollercoaster ride, but the characters were amazing. The storyline was so good. Seeing Jax development throughout the book was amazing and made me love him even more.

Jax and Wilder had the most sizzling chemistry 🔥 their relationship was so special and it was perfect to read.
