Eduardo Battaner es físico. Estudió en Madrid y más tarde completó su formación en el Max-Planck-Institut für Aeronomie en Lindau. Ejerció como catedrático en el Departamento de Física Teórica y del Cosmos de la Universidad de Granada y actualmente es coordinador de Astrofísica del Instituto Carlos I de Física Teórica y Computacional. Es especialista en magnetismo cósmico y ha publicado diversos libros de divulgación científica. En 2009 recibió el premio RSEF-Fundación BBVA a la Docencia Universitaria.
