Summary
A book about grief and loss which asks, and answers, the question, "What is it like to live in the mourning light?" In this, her second book, (but her first in audio format), Andrea Corrie tells more about her life following the loss of her much-loved 19-year-old son James to accidental drowning in the River Thames in 2005.
Living in the Mourning Light brings us from 2014 to the present. It stands alone as a book designed to broaden knowledge about the grieving process and need not be listened to as a sequel to Into the Mourning Light, which focused on the first eight years of loss. Andrea explores key themes familiar to anyone who mourns positively: She perceives as a gift the ability to explore the tenets of hope, love, light, faith resilience, and joy as they relate to the grieving process.
Contributors share their views, broadening the overall appeal of the book. Expect the unexpected; as Andrea relates how she came to recognise that for her, faith is a powerful tool for grief. Listen too, about the impact of her involvement with the RNLI, Fire and Rescue service, and other organisations. The message underpinning Andrea’s writing is always one of hope: The book will leave you feeling optimistic about the future, not despondent about the past.
Living in the Mourning Light offers reassurance that you can return to joyful, meaningful living, despite the absence of your loved ones. The book contains a variety of reflections about our inner strength and innate ability to overcome the worse of situations. The book is read with warmth and empathy.

Very moving, honest & helpful
This book is beautifully & very honestly written about a Mother’s (& the family’s) journey following a tragic loss. It is narrated so wonderfully too.
I gained so much from this audiobook, both to help me in my journey following 3 very recent bereavements, but also from the vast amounts research & contributions. The poems, carefully sought out quotes & tips are very helpful for people going through any kind of loss; not just bereavement. *HIGHLY RECOMMEND*

Hope for the future…..
Having read Andrea’ s first book, ‘Into the Mourning Light’ I was unsure if I was far enough on my grief journey to relate to this.. I’m so glad I’ve read/listened, my first audio book and has been my constant companion, have had to read the book too - so relatable in many parts and with grateful thanks to Andrea for giving me hope that in time I can also live in the Mourning Light where the sadness that surrounds me now will somehow lift and the precious memories of my wonderful Son will guide me further and provide the strength to continue my grief journey.
Andrea, you write with such Grace and dignity, you are a true inspiration to myself and many others, thank you for giving me hope for the future x
