About this listen
Darcie Wilder's Literally Show Me a Healthy Person is a careful confession soaking in saltwater, a size B control top jet black pantyhose dragged over a skinned knee and slipped into unlaced doc martens. Blurring the lines of the written word, Literally Show Me a Healthy Person is a portrait of a young girl, or woman, or something; grappling with the immediate and seemingly endless urge to document and describe herself and the world around her. Dealing with the aftermath of her mother's death, her father's neglect, and the chaotic unspoken expectations around her, this novel is a beating heart at the intersection of literature, poetry, and the Internet. Darcie Wilder elevates and applies direct pressure, but the wound never stops bleeding.

Sadly not much to like
I think it's interesting to hear a train of someone's inner monologues and thoughts through a series of poems. Whilst I understand the concept the execution is lacking. It was easier listening to this on audible then reading the physical book, if I had read a physical copy I would not have got through the first chapter. That's being said the author should have chosen someone else to read the book audio as they have I hate to say quite a monotone voice. It was a bit like listening to Bella from Twilight telling you how much she loves Edward. One of the few things that I do love is the touching moments where the writer mentions their mother who has now passed.

Not for the faint hearted
Strange and honest little number. Far from prudish, closer to explicit. Dark and deep and odd and wonderful.
