About this listen

King Henry II reigns over a vast empire, but he is aging, and his ambitious sons are restless. Henry’s third son, Richard of Aquitaine, is developing a fearsome reputation as a ruthless warrior, and he earns the name Richard Lionheart for his bravery and brutality on the battlefield.

After the deaths of his brothers, Richard’s impatience to take the throne leads him to form an alliance with France. And so Richard begins his bloody quest to return the Holy Land to Christian rule.

A legendary tale

This is the story of one of England's finest, known as Richard the Lionheart. This book is the best way to learn about this man, it is excellently written and excellently voiced. It put tears in my eyes when it came to an end but my heart was filled with great pride, to know the story of the legendary Lionheart.

Delightful

A very enjoyable story. Great to understand Richard the Lionhearts story. I felt that it was perhaps aimed at a younger audience - teenagers perhaps.

it took ages to get anywhere so I gave up narrator didn't read exciting parts as if they were exciting, not like it would have been if I was reading myself, I just couldn't keep going with it
