Summary
From the Sunday Times bestselling author of The Lido comes a story about following your dreams, set over one single day.
Welcome to the café that never sleeps.
Day and night, Stella's Café opens its doors to the lonely and the lost, the morning people and the night owls. It's a place where everyone is always welcome, where life can wait at the door.
Meet Hannah and Mona: best friends, waitresses, dreamers. They love working at Stella's - the different people they meet, the small kindnesses exchanged. But is it time to step outside and make their own way in life?
Come inside and spend twenty-four hours at Stella's Café, where one day might just be enough to change your life...

Not what I expected at all, but thoroughly enjoyed
At first, I didn’t get to hate the story jumped about a but at the beginning, but as you carry on reading and get to the end, you begin to understand.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will probably read (or listen to) more by this author 😊

Absolutely lovely
After reading My Island Home, I was so delighted to have discovered this author that I immediately downloaded The 24-Hour Cafe, which I think is slightly even better. It is such an usual setting for linking the lives of various people, and such a pleasant change from the seemingly never-ending supply of ‘psychological thrillers’ about domestic abuse and threatened or abducted children. This book is an interesting study of human life and an absolutely gorgeous read or listen.
Please write more soon, Libby! Brilliant narration too!

Beautiful
A stunning portrait of life in snippets a bit like when you people watch and learn titbits of other people's lives simply fascinating and shows that for the most part people are good natured.

Wonderful book
The narrator Clare is amazing, she has me drawn into the cafe to meet all the characters. Her voice is so soothing she makes the book come alive. I’ve listened for 15 minutes a day whilst having my breakfast and looked forward to indulging in the 24 hour cafe everyday.
The author Libby is such an amazing writer, she has me from the very first sentence, I’ve felt like part of the book all the way along. My adult daughter is a dancer and I’ve told her and all of her friends to read it. This isn’t just fantasy it’s so real. I stumbled upon Libby and have also read The Lido, you make books come to life. Please don’t ever stop writing! Your books are my friends!

An okay read - didn’t grip me like lido as I wasn’t really sure the story was as strong for me to continue - glad in the end everything turned out okay

Sat outside my house just to see what happened to Mona and Hannah
I listen to audiobooks on my long car work journeys. After 8 hours driving yesterday I just had to sit on my drive for 20 mins to learn whether Mona and Hannah put things right. An amazing insight into many and diverse characters’ lives. I loved this book. Such detail to everyday things and I adored the fact that characters reappeared when I didn’t expect. Tinged with the appropriate amount of sadness and joy to make the outcomes so real. “The Lido” was amazing as I am obsessed with swimming, the 24-hour Cafe makes me want to open one!
