About this listen

Daily lessons and meditations on how to detach from other people's expectations and discover a life of balance and freedom.

Do you ever feel like you give other people too much power over what you think and feel? Does how your mate or child or employer treat you make or break your day? Do you find yourself feeling immobilized by other people's expectations and demands? These are the classic indicators of codependence. And the only solution to codependence is detachment. This seeming paradox-embracing (bringing near you) detachment (separation) - holds the key to your inner peace and that of those around you.

Through 200 meditations, Karen Casey teaches you how to let go of the illusion that you can control anyone or anything beyond yourself. You'll learn how to find your own balance point and how to get to it whenever you find yourself tempted to become enmeshed in other people's problems or to rescue them.

Very helpful

Very insightful with lots of useful nuggets of information. There is a good bit of repetition towards the end so knocked off one star just for that. Overall I would highly recommend.

Good book, but all too religious

I have tried and it did give me some freedom, but when I heard God for the 100th time... it was hard to detach anymore.
The book helped me get some practical advice, as soon as I've chosen to "be detached" from the word God or destiny, but it takes a bit of practice.
Good naration though and I condone the author, the book having some interesting aspects, but I did feel preached at, in many moments. This might be someone elses peace of pie more then mine 😀

Too religious for me

I sometimes listen to religious books to get more spiritual inside without using God. in the beginning I detached from the word God, but with time the repetitions and God was too much for me. I believe the book contains useful information, but I am afraid I would have to stop here midway. I took the advice of the auteur that it's okay to detach from something that's not working for you. So, in the end I can say, it's a good book 😊. if you are religious, you would enjoy it.

Repetitive

Got abit bored maybe there’s some good advice but too long and repetitive and too much leaving it to god
