About this listen
"What must I do to gain eternal life?” The rich man who asked this of Jesus was told to sell all he had and give to the poor. But, more importantly, he was told, “Come, follow me!” Franciscan Casey Cole challenges us to let go of something more difficult than material wealth: expectations, anxiety, comfort, wounds, enemies, power - and our very selves. Speaking from both personal and pastoral experience, he outlines the stumbling blocks that turn us away from following Jesus as true disciples.
The response to “What must I do?” is simple but not easy: Let go. Now.

"Fr. Casey Cole, OFM has crafted a map for anyone seeking to live out God's will. By giving the reader permission to drop the facade of perfection and having it all together, Cole points towards a Christian path of freedom and simplicity. Utterly readable and exuding Cole's easy-going personality, Let Go is a joy to read." (Mike St. Pierre, executive director of Catholic Campus Ministry Association)
"When it comes to growing in holiness, I am my own worst enemy, constantly putting stumbling blocks between myself and my savior. Thanks be to God, Casey Cole, OFM, has come to my rescue - and yours - with some practical guidance for letting go of our stumbling blocks and embracing all Christ wants us to be." (Tommy Tighe, author of Catholic Hipster)

Let go. Now!
If you were to kneel at the feet of Jesus, seeking eternal life, what would He tell you to let go of?
I first read this book during Lent. And over the last few days I’ve listened to Fr Casey essentially read it to me, with what felt like the same comfort of YouTube (Breaking the Habit, technically).
So if we had to ask this question to Our Lord, we would need to mull over a few areas of our lives and undertake a very deep and honest examination of conscience and self. Fr Casey touches on the common day to day areas for ordinary people that do in fact present obstacles for us in our pilgrimages. Be they long standing members of the church or brand new to faith, no one is perfect and could always do with getting into the habit of continuing formation - which to a Franciscan like Fr Casey (and to me, a Secular Franciscan) is a must for our ongoing conversion in Christ.
Read it, listen to it, tell others about it. It’s a great manual for life changing benefits. Let go, and let God!
