About this listen
Olivia Hanbury is widowed in the middle of WWI and reluctantly goes back to live with her parents. In the village the Vicar's wife is trying to set up a women's institute. Olivia helps her, and for the first time since her husband's death she feels useful. However, her family decide the Vicar's wife is giving her foolish ideas, so they forbid her to help any more.
Instead Olivia runs away to become one of the paid organisers who is helping set up local women's institutes in Wiltshire. Her work brings her to Greyladies, where she meets Phoebe. Will she manage to make a life for herself, or will her family and those who don't approve of the WI stop her?

Legacy of Greyladies by Anna Jacobs Penelope Free
Yet another trilogy of books by the author. Has everything you want in a book. Characters that you can identify. Romance, sculldugery, good characters good stories and the good guy wins in the end..

Disappointing
Normally a Fan of Anna Jacobs I found this a very boring book. It went on and on about the founding of the Womens Institute and then the subject was dropped. Thank goodness because it was very boring. The whole book was full of ghosts, hooray Henry’s and Dad’s Army. It was neither entertaining nor believable. Also the narrator’s accent was so strong in places I struggled to work out what was being said. All in all a failure to either entertain or educate.

Not her best
I found this book verging on “silly” with the ghost voices and indeed the presence of “Ann”. I am a great fan of this author and the narrator but this book was not her best work.
