About this listen
Left to Die is book one in a new FBI thriller series by USA Today best-selling author Blake Pierce, whose #1 best-seller Once Gone (Book #1) (a free download) has received over 1,000 five star reviews.
FBI special agent Adele Sharp is a German-and-French raised American with triple citizenship — and an invaluable asset in bringing criminals to justice as they cross American and European borders.
When a serial killer case spanning three U.S. states goes cold, Adele returns to San Francisco and to the man she hopes to marry. But after a shocking twist, a new lead surfaces and Adele is dispatched to Paris, to lead an international manhunt.
Adele returns to the Europe of her childhood, where familiar Parisian streets, old friends from the DGSI, and her estranged father reignite her dormant obsession with solving her own mother’s murder. All the while she must hunt down the diabolical killer, must enter the dark canals of his psychotic mind to know where he will strike next — and save the next victim before it’s too late.
An action-packed mystery series of international intrigue and riveting suspense, Left to Die will have you turning pages late into the night.
Books two and three in the series – Left to Run and Left to Hide – are also available for preorder!

Dreadful narration
I tried and tried to listen to this book but awful narration and in particular the ghastly french accent stopped me. Don’t try the accent if you can’t do it properly.

Disappointing
Not a strong story, characters not particularly well drawn. Many factual errors, for example regarding border checks in Europe and descriptions of Parisian neighbourhoods.
Narration not very good, accents appalling, I almost gave up when the French detective sounded like a comic German. Stuck with it so as to give a fair review. I won’t be buying any further titles in this series.

"Like an artist with a paintbrush."
An unbelievable story with an annoying main protagonist always whinging on about no home and three citizenships and how horrible her youthful days had been growing up as a military brat with murdered mother: I wanted to slap her. Her pursuit of the murderer is lame, the killer himself rather pathetic, descriptions faintly silly - and the narration is not good. Abigail Reno has an irritatingly girlie voice and too slow - although thinking about it, she does fit rather fit with the character. Plus the editing of glitches is very poor, occasionally leaving in the repeated words or phrases, and, more frequently, removing them inexpertly leaving a partly cropped word and a noticeable click.
Not a book I can recommend even if it is a free download with the Audible Plus programme
