About this listen

Lady Constance Keeble, sister of Lord Emsworth of Blandings Castle, has both an imperious manner and a valuable diamond necklace.

The precarious peace of Blandings is shattered when her necklace becomes the object of dark plottings, for within the castle lurk some well connected jewel thieves - among them the Honourable Freddie Threepwood, Lord Emsworth's younger son, who wants the reward money to set up a bookmaking business.

Psmith, the elegant socialist, is also after it for his newly married chum Mike. And on patrol with the impossible task of bringing management to Blandings is the Efficient Baxter, whose strivings for order lead to a memorable encounter with the castle flowerpots.

Will peace ever return to Blandings Castle...?

Another superb performance

A real treat for PSmith and blending a fans. Jonathan Cecil performs all characters brilliantly making this a real pleasure to listen to.

The only disappointment is Wodehouse didn't write any more with PSmith as secretary.

Brilliant story but terrible recording

Loved it, I've always been a fan of PG Wodehouse and Jonathan Cecil delivers it well. Although the recording is a little fuzzy at times so listening in the car was difficult.

Good story if you can get over poor recording

Poor and inconsistent quality recording but great story! The story is, if I may say so, better than Jeeves & Wooster.

Wodehouse vividly brought to life

I greatly enjoyed the characterisation of the different parts.

The narration is most pleasing to the ear.

The plot lends itself well to being listened to.

Classic Wodehouse

This was the second time that I had read this classic. Beautifully written and with some really funny set pieces.

If you like the work of PG Wodehouse, then this is not to be missed. Wonderful narration, as always.
