About this listen
The Ruined Man
Reed Olsson made an unforgivable mistake. He stole from the Killough Company and as a result suffers severe consequences. He's tortured within an inch of his life, and he expects death, but instead he's given a second chance. The only downside is that he's handed over to Oisín, a twisted thief with a death wish. Now Reed has a chance to escape, but to do that, he must bide his time and play the game.
The Flirty Thief
Oisín Kelly cant stand boredom. He lives on the edge of danger every day and it's always difficult to find a man who can keep up, but then he sees Reed under the torturous hand of a Company man. Oisín wants him. Reeds a beast, one that keeps Oisín on his toes, and he's fun . . . for now.
Clash of Wills
Their relationship is push and pull, and neither expects the satisfying thrill of being around each other. Reed has been burned too many times, and Oisín expects Reed to falter under his chaotic demands. Instead, they find a comfortable balance that makes them both question what they have. When Oisín drags Reed out on an assignment as his backup, itll be the ultimate test. Will Reed run or will he stay to fight alongside Oisín?

Love the story, dislike the characters
I had read the book and had hoped that by listening, I’d get to enjoy the characters. Keval Shah did make these characters a lot more interesting to me. Even though they are still not likable to me I got a better feel for them. This story has me shaking my head. It is a story that has me wondering how to even explain or review.
I enjoyed the story but found that a little weird when I didn’t like either of the main characters. It’s not that the characters don’t fit the story, they completely do but I just can’t find anything I really like about them. There is nothing redeemable about either.
Oisin saves Reed from being killed. Oisin is a strange sort of person. He seems to take joy in all the wrong things. He isn’t the sort to get into a long relationship but there is something about Reed that draws him in.
Reed is a traitor and is on the edge of being killed but is saved by Oison. Reed has a very negative opinion of himself on most everything. When given the choice of being owned by Oison or death there isn’t much of a choice. Even when given the chance to escape, Reed doesn’t really make the best choice for himself.
There is just something about this story that kept my attention. Maybe because it sure doesn’t follow any old routine bad guys or maybe it is because of my dislike for the mc’s and I wanted to see where they ended up but in any case I found this entertaining. I’m anxious to see what's next.

Amazing
Reed Olsson wasn’t using his brains when he decided to steal from Sloane Killough now he’s being tortured and Oisín Kelly is watching . Oisin is bored and when he sees Reed he decides h wants him so asks Sloane cannot he keep in at first Reed is rebellious but as time goes on they develop a bond and it’s tested when Reed gets a chance to escape or save Oisin . Really enjoyed listening Keval Shah is fast becoming a favourite narrator.

Dysfunctional relationship at its best
Oisin and Reed are definitely not in a conventional relationship - but I loved their story and their chemistry. It was fun to finally get the story about how Reed became Oisin’s beast, after Reed’s encounter with Cilian and Aspen. I am a sucker for anything with the Killough Company but this can be read/ listened as a standalone. If you love mob romance, dark romance and Irish accents this is a great choice - Keval is an amazing narrator as always.
