About this listen

Real estate developer Dharmen Shah’s offer to buy out the residents of Vishram Society - a formerly respectable, now crumbling apartment complex that abuts the infamous Dharavi slums - is more than generous. But one man stands in the way of Shah’s luxury high- rise: Masterji, a retired schoolteacher who will not leave his home in Vishram’s Tower A. Shah is a dangerous man to refuse, but as the demolition deadline looms, Masterji’s neighbors - friends who have become enemies, acquaintances turned co- conspirators - may stop at nothing to score their payday.

Critic reviews

"Extraordinary and brilliant... Adiga is a real writer - that is to say, someone who forges an original voice and vision." ( Sunday Times)

Bad Narration can spoil a good book

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Sam Dastor has not done a god job this time around. The book has amny characters male and female. All female characters sound comic and alike. Masterji and Ram khare have similar accents.

No ... this was a bad job .. period.

Would you be willing to try another book from Avarind Adiga? Why or why not?

yes

What didn’t you like about Sam Dastor’s performance?

No ... this was a bad job .. period.

Did Last Man In Tower inspire you to do anything?

good piece of stroy telling of a place i know like the back of my hand.
