About this listen
'It was the day I put the tennis balls into the tumble dryer that I realised I thought about tennis a little bit differently.'
What happens when you find you have exceptional children? Do you panic? Put your head in the sand? Or risk everything and jump in headfirst?
As mother to tennis champions Jamie and Andy Murray, Scottish national coach, coach of the Fed Cup and general all-round can-do woman of wonder, Judy Murray is the ultimate role model for believing in yourself and reaching out to ambition. As a parent, coach and leader, she is an inspiration who has revolutionised British tennis. From the soggy community courts of Dunblane to the white heat of Centre Court at Wimbledon, Judy Murray's extraordinary memoir charts the challenges she has faced, from desperate finances and growing pains to entrenched sexism.
We all need a story of 'yes we can' to make us believe great things are possible. This is that story.

Fantastic account
Listened to this on a long car journey with my 10 and 15 yr old, was suitable for ALL of us and as it's read by Judy Murray you really get a feel for the life they all lead. A long journey but she made it and supported those boys throughout, putting them first while building her own career and tennis in Scotland for many with a passion for her sport she's so keen to pass on to others. Great book, highly recommend it. She sounds like a wonderful woman, I'm full of admiration !

Pleasantly Suprised
I chose this book as I'm a big tennis fan and there weren't many other books available to choose at the time, so I was a bit sceptical but I thought I would give it a go, and I'm glad that I did. What a great Mum and a great woman Judy is

Every woman should read this book
What a joy to hear the true life story of a woman who is unashamedly proud of her achievements and those of her children. To constantly fight the misogyny and come out being adored by the public is great credit to her and she should be held up as a heroine and champion for woman overcoming prejudice. I hope her legacy is one of raising the number of girls and women rising to the top of their sports as well as just getting involved and enjoying it at grass roots level. I was engaged by Judy’s story from beginning to end. The only negative point for me was that for most of the book she talked about the huge financial struggle she faced to support her boys yet never made any mention of what difference to their lives earning £millions brought. These are the rewards we want to hear about Judy too! We want to know all your sacrifices were worth it! Pretending Andy still dined at McDonalds was disingenuous I felt st the end and spoilt it a little bit but not too much! I’d still thoroughly recommend this book if you want an inspirational read.
