Summary

A MESMERIZING BREAK-OUT CRIME THRILLER FULL OF BREATHTAKING TWISTS.

Nic always hated clubbing. She only went out that night because she'd promised a friend.

She wakes up, naked and bound in an abandoned cottage in the middle of nowhere. Dappled light comes in through a dirty window. Her body is covered in cuts. Across the room her friend groans in pain.

A shadow passes the window. He's back.

He picks up a knife. He begins to cut her friend. In that moment of bloody frenzy, Nic wrenches free and runs. She's finally safe. But this is just the beginning.

Detectives Asha Harvey and Aaron Birch arrive at the scene hours later. There is no body, there is no sign of the killer. It's as if it never happened.

YOU THINK YOU KNOW HOW IT ENDS? THINK AGAIN.

Excellent start to a new series

I loved this story. I loved the narration, I loved the characters BUT I did not love the first few minutes at all, I found them quite stressful, after three attempts to listen I made it out the other side and I'm so glad that I did, it really was a great listen all round.
I totally recommend this one.

Brilliant Story. Completely wrong accents

Given that the novel is set in Northern Ireland it is hard to understand why they should choose an English narrator with the strangest faux Southern Irish accent . Not once do any of the NI characters sound even remotely authentic . It jars the whole way through. Stranger still the narrator does attempt to award some variety of accents to the English characters . Such a shame given the great writing
