About this listen

After drinking a bottle of wine, Harper tells her business rival that she recently got engaged. Once the hangover wears off, Harper realizes she now needs a fake fiancé or to admit she lied. Wanting to avoid the backlash, she asks her childhood best friend for a favor.

She can pretend she’s not in love with him, but her traitorous body reveals otherwise.

Ethan Bishop will do anything for Harper, even if it’s crazy and means risking his heart. Pretending to be engaged to the woman he’s always loved proves to be difficult - especially when repressed feelings bubble to the surface.

He only wants to help, but everyone in his life sees through his façade.

It’s hard to know what’s real or fake when their private moments turn intimate. When they cross the line and fall between the sheets, the truth is undeniable.

Just as they feared, their friendship’s no longer the same. However, one thing’s certain - there’s no going back now.

Note: Kissing the Cowboy is a complete stand-alone and can be listened to withoutlistening to any of the other audiobooks or spin-off series, but if you prefer to listen in order, start with Hitching the Cowboy as the characters and families do interconnect.

Harper and Ethan

This book is such a great friends to lovers story.
It’s sweet how much Ethan dotes on and cares about Harper. And although she tries to deny it, she feels the same for him.

The lines get blurred after a fake engagement and neither of them can deny their feelings anymore.
It’s a story that gives you all the warm fuzzies, as well as a few laughs—let’s face it, these Bishops and their antics make for a fun time!

Plus, we got a bit more of the Grayson and Kenzie story.
Looking forward to their story!

Lia, as always, did a superb job with narration.
I felt that Tor’s accent was a little forced at times, though he still did a great job.

Awesome Story & Narration🎧 Captivating & Heartfelt

Kennedy Fox continues to wow me with another fabulous romance novel set in their “Circle B Ranch” series. This has become one of my favorite cowboy series. It is easy to fall in love with the characters and their storylines are fabulously entertaining. This fifth book is Harper and Ethan’s story, they grew up together and became best friend. Their feelings for each other grew but they hid those feelings because they were afraid it would ruin what they had, a genuine true friendship. Ethan works with the goats on the ranch and Harper started her own business making soaps, she also helps her Mom out in the boutique. Her business is growing and she struggles to keep up with orders. One of her competitors is always stealing her ideas so she has to be more creative in unveiling her ideas. She winds up getting caught up in the competitive frenzy with her rival and winds up saying she is engaged so now she needs to show up at the next event with her fiancé, Ethan. Who else was she going to name, thankfully he has her back and plays the role well, in fact very well and it turned out to be a night to be remembered. The chemistry between these two was smoking hot, but Harper lets her fear stop it from going further but her fear backfires on her and she winds up ruining their friendship anyway. This is a wonderful friends to lovers romance, the story contains a lot of heart and is beautifully plotted with drama, some humor and hot loving. Kennedy Fox, thank you for another awesome story.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Lia Langola and Tor Thom are talented narrators and voice artists. They continue to bring these characters to life with a complete understanding of each character they portray giving each a voice that is a perfect fit for that character’s persona, sounding believable that role and just as I picture the character to sound. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture the character’s emotions and project them into their performance. These two fabulously talented voice artists are entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Harper and Ethan!

Ethan doesn’t remember a time that he wasn’t best friends with Harper, and she has always been an integral part of his life. It is the worst kept secret in his family that his feelings for her are actually those of romantic love rather than friends so no matter what she needs he will always be there for her.

Harper’s feelings for Ethan run much deeper than friends as well but she doesn’t want to do anything that could destroy the most important relationship in her life. A few drinks too many and an exaggeration about her relationship with Ethan has him pretending to be her fiancé however it is the very real feelings between them that complicates everything.

Ethan and Harper have always belonged together and seeing them realize it as well was so fun to see and it is always fun to catch up with this family and experience their relationships with each other once again. I enjoyed the depth that the narrators brought to the characters as they brought out all the angst and turmoil they were feeling.

friends to lovers

Wow! Loved Ethan - great book boyfriend. A great easy drama free listen for an afternoon spent with the Bishops.

The narrators were both great and worked well for the characters. Recommend.

🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠

Kissing the Cowboy gave off different vibes than the other stories in the Circle B Ranch series, in the all the good ways mind you, it was refreshing to hear Ethan and Harpers story. Yes, they popped in from time to time in the other books, but Ethan is different to his hell raiser cousins, so I very much looked forward to learning more about him. The anticipation in this book was killing at times, just when I thought something was about to happen my adrenaline plunged and I found myself screaming “just do it already” until it did 😏…….Can’t wait to read what comes next. Of course listening to this book on an audio platform adds another level! I can’t work out which I like more, Kennedy Fox in paperback or Audio format?

Superior

This author duo really do make me wanna fight anyone who says friends to lovers isn't the superior romance trope. Because it is. The pining, the longing, the angst, the stolen glances and touches. I was living for the way Ethan longed for Harper, helping her with her business and always having her back. So we have a boss small business owner, a strong, alpha goat farmer/cowboy, a wonderful family who always give it to you straight, and goats.Named after pastry treats. And the classic KF fast paced and solid writing style. What more do you want, people?? I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.

My Thoughts on Kissing the Cowboy

I was very much looking forward to Ethan and Harper's book and now that I finally had the chance to listen to it I am pleased to say that it was well worth the wait. I loved the best friends to lovers as well as the fake engagement tropes in this book. It helped make the story line very interesting along with the other Bishop family members, a catty mean girl, and of course the HEA I crave.

The ending was just as perfect as the narration. Lia and Tor gave another excellent performance with the accents and overall tones. I would happily listen to more from them.
