About this listen
In this audio-first rom com by #1 New York Times bestselling author Lauren Blakely, a scorching one-night stand with a stranger turns into a deliciously forbidden romance...
My first evening in London feels like kismet when I bump into a charming, book-loving Englishman, and by the end of the night, he’s making me see stars. I’m floating when we make plans to meet again.
Then fate decides to pull a fast one on me.
Turns out, my smoldering new lover is my red-hot competition, and we’re vying for the same promotion at the elite auction house I crossed an ocean for.
If that’s not enough, the hottie and I are forced to work together on a brand new collection. Every. Single. Tempting. Day.
What's an American woman in London to do?
Staying far, far away would be the safe choice, especially when I learn about his past and how it mirrors mine. But I don’t always play it safe with my heart…

🎧 Jo and Heath 🎧
A sweet, drama and angst-free, grumpy/sunshine, office romance that left a smile on my face.
Julia Whelan and Shane West were perfect as Josephine and Heath.

Loved the duo!
“Kismet” by Lauren Blakely is a captivating romance set in London, where two protagonists unexpectedly find themselves competing for the same promotion in the art world. Blakely skillfully navigates moral dilemmas and portrays the characters’ journey of self-discovery amidst the backdrop of the bustling city. With its engaging storyline and well-developed characters, “Kismet” is a delightful read for fans of contemporary romance.

Just lovely.
Really enjoyed this title! The story was simple and dreamy as was the narration. Got through this book so quickly and will be recommending it to all Romance lovers. I just wish the narrators read their own lines instead doing the voices for each other characters depending on who’s chapter it was. I found it distracting. Other than that loved it!

Too predictable
The first part of the book was okay, but the last 2-1,5 hours were incredibly boring. The plot is quite weak, and the dialogue could use more work. It was fine for a free listen, but I wouldn't recommend spending your money on this.

A little too unbelievable
I liked the premise of the story but declaring love so quickly?? And some of the conversations are so
Mills and boon. It was ok and I always love julia whelans narration but hopefully the author will add in some reality next time.

Not my cuppa
Never listened to this genre on audiobook before so I'm not sure if I'd have enjoyed it more if I read it. The male narrator's voice was lovely but when he tried to speak with a woman's tone, he sounded camp. There's nothing wrong with sounding camp but not for a love story hero who is straight. The female narrator was good but her female English accent was off. I couldn't really enjoy the story because of these two things and I don't know if I would have enjoyed it if I'd read it.

Heath & Jo
Kismet was a lovely sweet listen. In London, Jo and Heath meet in the pub (this is so British) and spend one steamy night together where they agree to meet again. Fast forward a few days and fate intervenes again bringing them together as work colleagues. The decision that their relationship shouldn’t move into love territory is made for them in that instant but they still feel the pull towards each other.
This was my first audiobook narrated by Julia Whelan but hopefully not my last as she really made Jo come to life. The brilliant Shane East just makes all the male characters sound great so it’s always a pleasure to listen to his narrations.

A really nice listen 👍
This was a sweet love story. Not overly heavy porn content, which makes a change, but there were still some fitting sex scenes.
Good storyline, likeable characters with enough back story to make it interesting.
Well written and narrated. It was what I consider a ‘comfy’ listen. Feels like the ‘ahhh’ you get sinking into a nice warm bath.
Definitely recommend 👍

Easy listening, lovely story.
I really enjoyed listening to this story. No real drama just a sweet love story with a happy ending. Some days this is just what you need to listen to!

Okay… but that’s it
A bit sickly at times but to a point that’s what I signed up for… however it really annoys me when books are written and set in the UK and yet americanisms are rife. This is unfortunately a big issue for me in this book. Maybe one set in the states wouldn’t irk me so much.
