About this listen

Every assassin has a first time…

On the backstreets of Lyon, France, an MI6 surveillance team are gunned down in a cold-blooded ambush. Thrust into the hunt for the assassin is the sole survivor – rookie covert operative Duncan Grant.

His feats in training are already the stuff of legend. His tough, solitary existence on Scotland's Isle of Skye forging a man willing to kill to protect the innocent and save lives.

But no training can prepare Grant for the devastating consequences his first kill will unleash.

As he follows a bloody trail of clues around the globe, he discovers that his own agency is selling him out.

Now Grant is about to find himself in the middle of an international conspiracy involving a corrupt Interpol detective, a Saudi prince, and the highest levels of government.

But they've underestimated the wrong man.

And Grant's about to prove to them that the second kill is far easier than the first.

A rip roaring adventure

A great book for fans of Jason Bourne, Mission: Impossible, and the like, as always, with an excellent narration by Angus King.

Cracking Book.

This is a cracking book which has a very well written plot with great characters. I enjoy Andrew Raymond’s books because they provide everything that a good story needs. Looking forward to the next book in this new series featuring Duncan Grant. As always the vocals of Angus King were excellent, and who knew he could sound so menacing when required.
Highly recommend.

Yes, this is what we’re talking about.

Credible in a satisfyingly incredible way.

Angus King nails the narration of Andrew Raymond’s ripping yarn. Admirable goodies, repellent baddies. More rises, gravity free falls, hooping the loops and looping the hoops.

The story combines John Le Carré, Len Deighton and Ian Fleming flourishes with gritty narration.

Fine stuff; can’t wait till the next instalment involving any surviving members of the cast.

Another great listen.

I really like Andrew Raymond's books. I've listened to both previous series and really enjoyed them so thought I'd give this new character a go. I wasn't disappointed and now looking forward to the next book. Another bonus is that Angus King is narrating with his usual multi-cast performance.
