Good for beginner

I think that it is a really good book to start Russian, quite nice to listen to, but I would like to skip all the part where the English woman is repeating the same things about what we will hear and what we should do. It’s useless and quite annoying when you listen to the book again and again in order to remember everything. I would rather listen to new exercices or new vocab.
Otherwise great job, the voices are nice and clear. I wish there would be a third book.

Unique and Highly Recommended

Being on Pimsleur Level 2 I found this audiobook wonderful and a perfect compliment. It packs a lot of vocabulary into the short time span and the cultural commentary was extremely interesting and pleasing (I’ll probably eventually buy the basic course purely for this reason alone). The unique style with the questions and answers is extremely well thought out and accompanied with flawless enthusiasm from the narrator:). I’d like to buy a more advanced level of this series however it does appear to be available yet...:)

Quite good.

The course is quite good, very useful. But let down by not including the proper Russian in the pdf. I don't want to learn pseudo Russian but real Russian. Cyrillic words could easily have been used instead or as well.

Very useful and well structured

Although there are a few mistakes (easily spotted if you are following the lectures) the overall performance is great and the structure of the lessons is well thought. I enjoyed learning and practicing Russian with this tape!

Not helpful for advanced beginners

This audiobook with accompanying pdf describes the setting entirely in English.
Ok, maybe this is helpful for some.
But, if one is an advanced beginner, try giving the instructions in Russian so that normalcy of the language can be heard.

The dialogues are stifling, slow and typical of schoolbook exercise. Hardly anything that is going to help anyway crack the language in days.

The pdf really got my crawl up. There is no Cyrillic alphabet, no explanation of sounds, palatalisation or even examples of ы, и, е, ё, у or ю.
The English ear does not naturally distinguish these sounds, so any student would need help here to understand the differences.

The written instructions are entirely in English as are the questions and answers. The little Russian that does exist in text is Romanised, reinforcing confusion and errors in pronunciation by students, stifling progress.

There are many better resources on Amazon and free on YouTube.
