Summary

Hayley Cage never expected to find herself running jobs with one of the toughest mercenary units working the galaxy's edge. But then, life doesn't always go as planned. If it did, she would be about to graduate as an officer in the Republic military, not prepping for a routine rescue mission on a backwater planet in the middle of nowhere. A mission that's about to go straight to hell.

When a bad deal leads to a worse situation, Hayley and her squad find themselves trapped planet-side, under heavy attack, and fighting to survive against the most dangerous threat they've ever encountered. A threat they can't afford to leave unchecked, even if it means they have to die to stop it.

If they don't, it's going to be a whole lot more than their lives that are lost. It's going to be the whole galaxy.

The enemy always seems to be one step ahead, ready to intercept at every turn. When Hayley's at a crossroads of trusting someone she doesn't or not trusting someone she does, she has only one choice: Soldier up and double down. Lay everything on the line.

Good but...

Good but not as good as Chaos of the Covenant. It's a hard act to follow and I agree it should have been the same narrator as the first. Just couldn't get into it until right at the end. Doesn't fit either, elite team in first and cannon fodder in this one. Still worth a credit and a listen. Just give it a while between the two so you don't compare?

really enjoyed but!

great book, excellent story and Nicol Zanzarella read the story very well, i just feel it could have gone to the next level if it had been narrated by Jeff Hayes who narrated the prequel. That being said still really enjoyed it.

Spoilt

This book should have been narrated by Jeff Hays. I loved all the hells rejects and this is just wrong. To manny characters from previous books.
