Juliet on the process of reading

This is an excellent short listen as Juliet Stevenson who, in my humble opinion, is the absolute best reader, talks about the process of reading for an audio book, her favourites and how she goes about finding the characters' voice.

Delightful

I have always enjoyed listening to audiobooks which JS has narrated. Now listening to her chatting away easily makes you wish you could meet her in person and become her friend. She sounds delightful, interested in life, interested in people, passionate about her art forms, lovely lady

Enjoyed hearing about her process.

This was an interesting insight into an audiobook narrator‘s process. I enjoyed hearing about the fact that she hadn’t had a university education, and was enjoying discovering literature through being an audiobook narrator.

My favourite Narrator

Thank you, Ms Stevenson for all the beautiful narrations. I have actually lookout for her narrations to listen. Some great recommendations for future reads as well. My only request, please do Pride and Prejudice, unabridged version. I heard the abridged one's sample and it did sound so good. Thank you.

Truly Fascinating

it was so nice to hear how one of our actors put together and audible book and takes so much time in processing the work so that the finished article sound completely flawless. After this interview I have a long list of books to look for on Audible. I also have to look out for her favourite narrator you will have to find it out yourself in the interview.

Great

Very interesting to hear how Juliet Stevenson approaches the task of narration, especially how she builds character and how she deals with longer, complex narrative passages. The interview reveals just how exacting the process is to create a successful end result. The consummate artist, in whatever field she or he works - theatre, music, the pictorial arts etc. - makes it look effortless, which belies the hard work, preparation and experience that goes before. Juliet Stevenson is exceptional, both in her acting and in her work with the spoken word.
