About this listen

This incredible true story of Mark Rowan is compelling, inspirational, and totally gripping from beginning to end

This book is a great page-turner you won’t be able to put down! The reader will feel they are sharing in Mark’s rollercoaster journey of self-destruction to becoming an ordained minister. In a world of darkness, brokenness, isolation, and desperation, Mark becomes entrenched in crime, gangs, and drugs, until, that is, he encounters God in a miraculous way. This book is for everyone, whether privileged, atheist, oppressed, or addicted. It will inspire and warm your soul.

This inspiring and dramatic book of Mark’s former life of crime, gangs, drug addiction, and violence pulls no punches and will undoubtedly encourage every reader and give hope to those who feel there is no hope. We were both fully immersed from start to finish. Simply put, it’s a true gift to all who read it!

Mark tells a frank and stark story of his life, of the rejection of “a violent man, possessed by evil spirits, causing chaos in the community,” and he does not shirk away from sharing the details of the darkest moments of his life. It gives such valuable insight into the mind of a troubled young man. It is compelling, and it is so sad to see a life being destroyed by the belief that he was unworthy, unloved, and having no hope for his future. This is not, however, a story about glorifying in the work of the devil in his life, but of the overwhelming, amazing transformation by a loving Heavenly Father, God. We have known Mark only a few years, totally transformed from the man portrayed in this book, where he displays no evidence of his past life except his tattoos! His willingness to be so open and vulnerable reveals a massive heart to help others like himself find freedom and redemption. We hope that one day this book will be made available to all schools and colleges and remand centres to offer hope to young people so that they make better choices for their lives. This is a must-read and we thoroughly recommend it.
