About this listen
Carlos Castanada was a student of anthropology when he met Don Juan Matus, a Yaqui shaman and the inspiration for Castanada’s The Teachings of Don Juan. In this controversial work, Castanada relays his experiences being challenged by his mentor on his perception of the world and all living things in it.

I enjoyed it so much that I listen to twice
I had this audiobook on my wish list for over two years before I decided to buy it and I regret not doing so or should I say I’m glad I’ve now stopped not thinking about it? (You’ll get my point after you listen to the story)
I can’t wait to listen to more of his books

Unforgettable
People will argue whether this story is real or not. It does not matter. It has wisdom in it, woven in images that are unforgettable.

Great story but take with a pinch of salt
Very intriguing read. Not all should be taken literally. The messages are string and plenty of metaphors to emphasise the point. Mainly about seeing the world differently, "stopping the world" and rebelling against the societal norms. "Not doing" is about seeing things in a completely different light and embracing the vast hole of wonder that science cannot, and will never be able to, explain.

Living Life On The Edge
This book will help people to realise the need to understand that nothing is ever permanent in life and to learn to live their lives as if today was their last day.

Gripping
Outstanding. I have ordered the rest in the series as this one was so good. The narrator is as shown in the sample clip and after a little time getting used to his voice the book was a beauty. The pace is well read with sensible and natural emphasis. The price is steep so use a credit, but for such a long book and high recording quality (no background noise etc. ) I highly recommend it.

What a Journey!
Well, having read the book at least eight times over the years, I was delighted when I saw it was in audio format recently. I listen to the book when there is quiet around (which I feel is a must) as you need all your concentration to fully absord the wonders which are presented to you. The use of an American/Latino reader -Luis Mareno- adds to the sense of reality of the piece. I will be moving on to part two shortly and have just purchased A Separate Reality parts 1 & 2 also! Happy Days!

A truly magical existential journey..
This book is beautifully written and evoked a sense in me of it being very personal, and yet so very worldly.. lessons for life with humour and adventure, great knowledge and depth. A must read for anyone interested in the possibility of the world being more than it appears... amazing!!
