About this listen

Six more episodes of BBC Radio 4's multi-award-winning sketch show, written by and starring John Finnemore.

John Finnemore, writer and star of Cabin Pressure and John Finnemore's Double Acts, returns for a sixth series of his hugely acclaimed Souvenir Programme, which won him Radio Broadcaster of the Year at the 2016 Broadcasting Press Guild Awards.

Expect sketches! Expect songs! They're what made up the previous five series, so it seems a pretty safe bet that that's what will be in this series as well. And, well, since you ask him for some tall tales....

Kicking off with a seasonal special, this series takes in TV adverts, woodland talent contests, a song about the best day of the Christmas season and what is almost certainly the greatest story a Finnemore has ever told.

Described by The Daily Telegraph as 'funny enough to make even the surliest cat laugh', John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme also features Margaret Cabourn-Smith, Simon Kane, Lawry Lewin, Carrie Quinlan and, at the piano, Susannah Pearse.

A light in the gloom

Another lovely series of funny, good-natured, often absurd and insightful sketches that never take themselves too seriously.

Like eating a whole box of chocolates but without the sugar crash, weight-gain and feelings of self-loathing :D

Last episode stopped this from being 5*

I love John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme. I listened to this series when it was broadcast on Radio 4. Still brilliant to hear again but that last episode is dominated by an extended musical sketch that isn't funny. It seemed self-indulgent by those members of the cast who like to sing.

AMAZING

Everyone in my family plays this non-stop, its literally the only thing I hear! its amazing I love the humour and the songs and the sketches and the way they sometimes break out of character to tell him whats wrong with the sketch. I think I know every season of this series off by heart.

Since you ask me for a review ...

Any additional comments?

Love these series ... well anything by John Finnemore ... Cabin Pressure is sublime, but the Souvenir Programme series and Double Acts run them very, very close. Perfect listening.

Brilliant as always

John Finniemore continues to cement his place as Britains very best sketch writer with another few hours of wonderful comedy - if you have not yet heard any of the previous souvenir programs I would recommend you don't buy this yet and instead get series 1 first then buy the rest in order

But that's just coz I'm anal :-/

Well done again John + team :-)
