About this listen

Although retired, Jim Godwin takes a lowly part-time job at Slobend, Fleecem & Skinnem out of boredom and the need to eke out his pension. Unfortunately for Jim, he's had a prior altercation with two staff members. Worse, Jim knows that they are drug dealers on the side.

The two main drug-dealing ringleaders at Slobend, Fleecem & Skinnem try to get rid of Jim by playing pranks on him. However, Jim is made of steamer stuff, refusing to leave. He then realizes that Moira Buckle, another staff member, is also being bullied and coming to her aid. Poor old Jim. He just wanted a part-time job, but finds himself dragged into the local underworld, bullying, drug dealing, and race-fixing. What else could happen?

Thought-Provoking Thriller

The story is about a good man Jim who finally decides to give it back to his bullies, it is a story that many will be able to relate to.

We're all living in a harsh world were bullies think it's OK to push people who are silent, don't voice out, or don't have the looks or means, and what not. In most cases, they just bully because they want to and find reasons to give!

Case in Point - Jim who finally decides he needs to step up and take charge if he wants to put a real stop to bullying. He did not want to cower anymore and what happens when a silent man suddenly decides to create a storm?

An intriguing, relevant, thought-provoking thriller that keeps you hooked from beginning to the end, wondering what is going to happen next. If you want to know what happened, then I recommend listening to the audiobook!

A first-class comedy mystery thriller with perfect

I enjoyed the story, character development, and dialogue. There were plenty of plot twists that I didn’t see coming and that added to the book’s mystique. When I stopped reading to work, I found myself wondering what happened in the book, and replaying parts of the novel in my head to see if I could figure more out. It has been a while since I enjoyed a book this much. It’s a first-class comedy mystery thriller with perfect pacing. Not much is as it appears here, which is just the way fans of mystery, thriller, and suspense will want it.

Jim’s Revenge had every element a good story should have. An intriguing plot, with attention to detail, but best of all fleshed out, well-written, and well-rounded character development. There’s an abundance of well-illustrated scenes that make you feel like you are right there in the story, and that’s something I really look for in a good book. It’s one of those stories that come along once in a while that makes you want to read it non-stop until you get to the end. I’m giving nothing further away here. And this, I hope, will only add to the mystery and enjoyment for the reader!

I’ll be looking forward to reading more from Andrew R. Williams in the future. I would definitely recommend this book. However, for those who are linguistically sensitive, profanity is used and there are some scenes of a sexual nature.

A well-deserved five stars from me.
