About this listen
Are you sitting comfortably? Then Jeff will begin.... The universally loved, award-winning host of Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday and Channel 4's Countdown, and author of the best-selling Jelleyman's Thrown a Wobbly, returns with a Jackanory-style, football-flavoured narrative which gathers together the funniest, weirdest, most tragic, most heartwarming, under-the-radar stories of the football season.
The book is stuffed to the gunnels with behind-the-scenes revelations, opinions and personal anecdotes from Jeff, and has a strong leaning towards the absurdities of both the highest levels and the grassroots of the game. From the Macclesfield goalkeeper booked for using a golf tee to take his goal kicks, to the unintelligible ranting and raving of South American dictator chairmen, let Jeff be your trusted guide through the madness of the football season, and let Jeffanory supply you with a veritable treasure trove of great anecdotes to take to the pub.

Packed with a punch
A real no holes barred book on the antics of Jeff and the boys on a Saturday afternoon. Thoroughly enjoyed it. 👍

Plenty of entertainment from Jeff!
Another great read from Jeff. Then again I'm a fellow Hartlepool supporter, so I'm biased!

Hilarious
I love Jeff and this audiobook really gives me a bit extra than the few hours we get on a Saturday. There are a number of hilarious anecdotes about his live and even if they arent that great themself, the fact that are all told by Jeff makes it so much better. Good for listening to when you just want to clear your head for half an hour.

Bantz with the lads (and countdown)
I've always quite liked Jeff Stelling, but this book is pretty dire. Too much of the kammy and merse chat, not enough actually interesting stories. He's also just a bit outdated in terms of some of his opinions. Stands to reason isn't an argument, it's the lack of one, but that's the implication a lot of the time from Jeff. Give this a listen if you can stand to hear a dozen crap jokes and ancient tales about the lads on soccer Saturday for every interesting story you haven't heard twenty times before.
