About this listen
JavaScript is the programming language of the web and is used by more software developers today than any other programming language. For nearly twenty-five years this bestseller has been the go-to guide for JavaScript programmers. The seventh edition is fully updated to cover the 2020 version of JavaScript, and new chapters cover classes, modules, iterators, generators, Promises, async/await, and metaprogramming. You'll find illuminating and engaging example code throughout.
This book is for programmers who want to learn JavaScript and for web developers who want to take their understanding and mastery to the next level. It begins by explaining the JavaScript language itself, in detail, from the bottom up. It then builds on that foundation to cover the web platform and Node.js.
Topics include: types, values, variables, expressions, operators, statements, objects, and arrays; functions, classes, modules, iterators, generators, Promises, and async/await; JavaScript's standard library: data structures, regular expressions, JSON, i18n, etc.; the web platform: documents, components, graphics, networking, storage, and threads; Node.js: buffers, files, streams, threads, child processes, web clients, and web servers; and tools and language extensions that professional JavaScript developers rely on.

Lack of adequate accompanying material
while sorting material might be available else where (not easy to find, and I still have checked it because if this) the lack of convenient supporting material via audible is quite poor.
there is a pdf containing a small number insignificant figures.
it should go without saying that what you need is the "code" furnished sake. it is 'this' which should be in an indexed pdf. Chapter by chapter.
if they were feeling generous maybe even with time codes, but I'd except much less a more than available at present.
I'm kind of surprised they haven't automated dumping the GitHub to pdf for inclusion here.
Real shame as the content and performance is really good considering material subject.

negative points for accessibility. Unless your divination powers shine in gap-filling exercises, you'll need the book..
typical sample of audio content:
"Here are examples of javascripts objects: 【blank]"
"Your code might look like this [blank]. However, it is interpreted like this [blank], but what you probably meant was this; [blank]"
I really wish I was exaggerating, but this is literally it!
examples & sample code are extremely valuable in any learning path, yet, the numerous screenshots aren't described in the audio track (have they heard of Alt?). At times, it becomes genuinely laughable.
=> the book content in itelf is high quality.
=> the reading performance is also very good.
Sadly, the hole-ridden text makes this audio-book an incredibly frustrating experience, whether you are fully able or visually impaired and rely entirely on audio content.
Amazon, please refund this regrettable purchase!
