About this listen

One of the greatest love stories ever written, Jane Eyre is the tale of a young woman entangled with the powerful Mr. Rochester. What lurks in the attic at Thornfield, the ancestral home of the surly Mr. Rochester? Will the governess Jane Eyre discover his secret, and having discovered it, live to regret that knowledge? Battling inside Jane are passion and prudence; she struggles to survive the turmoil they cause.©2005 NAXOS AudioBooks Ltd. (P)2005 NAXOS AudioBooks Ltd. Wonderful download, beautifully narrated

This is my favourite novel of all time. I put off downloading a version for a long time afraid that hearing it would spoil my delight in it. When I finally gave in I took my time over the choice of narrator. This is a lovely version beautifully read and brings to life a wonderful book. Would thoroughly recommend this version.

Extraordinary narration

Perhaps the best narration of all of the hundreds of books in my collection. Transporting.

Fantastic novel, however not keen on the narrator

Having not read this book before, I thought I could give the audiobook a try. I found the story excellent, which wasn't a surprise as this is meant to be a classic. I was a little disappointed by the narrator, I found her voice very strange and difficult to sympathise with, especially when voicing Mr Rochester! It was a little distracting but didn't devalue the content.
