Summary
Joining us at Audible Studios are Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck, who, together, are James S. A. Corey, the authors of The Expanse series. The science fiction series takes place in a near future where humanity has colonised much of the solar system but has not yet mastered interstellar travel.
Ty Franck and Daniel Abraham both live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where they met through mutual friends and began writing and gaming together. Having already built the world of The Expanse for a game (it was initially created for an MMORPG pitch), the pair set out on a task to bring the world to life through fiction. Their first novel, Leviathon Wakes, was published in 2011 and was nominated for the 2012 Hugo Boss Award for Best Novel and the 2012 Locus Award for Best Science Fiction Novel.
The pair have gone on to release eight full novels within the series, with the ninth and final due to publish in 2020. The duo have also published several short stories and novellas between the main story. The Expanse series was picked up for television in 2014 and is now in its fourth series, with a fifth to come. Daniel and Ty work closely on this as writers and producers.
We spoke to Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck, a.k.a. James S. A. Corey, about The Expanse and their inspiration for it, how they write as a team, what they think fans will think of the ending and what their plans are for the future.

Insightful and fun interview
Short but very insightful interview with the creators of The Expanse novels. They talk about how they started collaborating, who writes which part and what got them into SciFi in the first place. As a huge Expanse fan, I enjoyed it!
