Summary

It's been 10 days, two hours and 43 minutes since Tansy got dumped. Two heartbreaking weeks since Renzo, who made her weak at the knees and dizzy with excitement, found out Tansy’s secret - and ended it on the spot.

Since then, she’s spent every evening scrolling through their old photos, drunk texted him 26 times (he stopped reading after five), and lost count of how many packets of Kleenex she’s cried her way through. But while she’s busy pretending, Tansy’s plan is thrown a major curveball. She has to learn the hard way that it’s not her, it’s him - and that sometimes, a breakup can end up being the making of you.

A nice little story ruined by shockingly poor narration

Why on earth do they keep employing this narrator? Leading character, her mum and sister hail from Cornwall so why do they all have an ultra posh plummy sloan accent? Absolutely Crazy. Stilted narration too; it feel like she loses interest in what she is reading and just reels out the words without any kind of punctuation or inflection. Real pity because the story itself is ok.

Easy Fun Listen!

I really enjoyed this book it was a nice easy simple listen to the daily life of a young woman who Struggles through life, remembering insecurities from school and insecurities within a present daily life. In the background she still struggles with an eating disorder but refuses to do anything about it, not realising that the disorder, insecurities and her self-doubt are all combined And preventing her from freely moving through life… Can’t say anymore you need to read ...Not too intense just easy!

A fun read, narration a bit annoying

This is an easy, entertaining listen with a fairly predictable ending but fun nonetheless! The narration is a bit annoying with an accent that sometimes sounds like she’s trying to be American - it didn’t put me off listening but I know it’s something that can be too annoying for other people.

The best Sophie book I have listened too 3🌟🌟🌟

l am pleasantly surprised as I really enjoyed this book! Me and Sophie Ranald's books have a weird relationship, a bit like marmite! I have actually returned one of her books.

In saying that I have to say I really have enjoyed this listen. It was a good Chicklit book and the only time I felt mad at the female protagonist is when she wanted back her ex boyfriend ~who treated her like crap!

It's strange how strong these young woman are in their careers but are completely different when it comes to their love lives. This book is a prime example.

I actually enjoyed the storyline. Jessica Preddy is a fantastic 'British' clear narrator.
Yes, I would recommend this if it is a £3 listen or a 2 for 1 credit but it's not worth a whole credit ~ just being honest!

Good story, great characters, but

I enjoyed the story, the characters were good and the storyline was interesting too, but the narration, I didn’t like it at all I’m afraid. The posh accent they have Tansie (and everyone as the narrator did not do different accents or voices) was really grating on me and made it difficult for me to enjoy the book. I only have it 3 stars because I didn’t like the narration.

Great Story. Terrible Narration.

An undemanding, slightly predictable but engaging storyline, tackling some interesting issues. Unfortunately the narration of this book is absolutely dreadful - stilted delivery and mispronunciation of so many words. I persevered but wouldn't listen to other books narrated by Jessica Preddy.

Badly cast voice for narration

the narration was poor. I believed it was an AI voice throughout based on the poor pronunciation of several words consistently, and was shocked to learn the narrator is an 'aclaimed' voice artist. It detracted from the enjoyment of the story as, often, sentences were read with the wrong emphasis or intonation, or didn't seem to end in the right places

Easy listen

This was an easy listen and a good story but frustrating too. The main character didn’t respect herself and allowed her to be treated badly and feel like she deserved it which annoyed me. But overall it’s a good story just bare with it.
