About this listen

The brutal murder of 10-year-old Callum Bradley sent shockwaves across Scotland, but as the weeks have stretched on with no solid leads, the investigation has been scaled back. Sergeant Don Colyear, community police officer, is tasked with tying up a loose end: a 999 call which may have hinted at the boy's murder.

However, the call was made three weeks before the crime took place. The caller turns out to be a resident at an Edinburgh care home, drifting in and out of lucidity due to dementia - enough to write off the potential lead as a dead end. But when a fresh murder disturbs the city, the clock is ticking path to catch a violent killer.

Thoroughly enjoyed this..

This was an Audible freebie. I enjoyed it immensely. Excellent narration from David Monteath. Likeable charecters, and a plausible plot. I shall be ordering the other 2 in the series, and hopefully, there will be more to follow.

Draws you in with realism

Love the initial slow meandering pace that lulls you into a false sense of all being well. Like the previous and first in the series this starts off with a hint of the grisly to come. If you like realistic crime stories this series is for you. An unassuming protagonist with hidden qualities and talents gradually emerging.
Looking forward to more from Don Colyear.

Another good thriller from Stuart Johnstone.

This is the second book in what I hope is going to be a series of Donald Colyear crime thrillers.

There is a mysterious ongoing theme to the character which is intriguing and I am looking forward to finding out more about him.

The story kept my attention throughout, and gets you hooked from the start.

I await the next book, but hope I won't have to wait too long.

David Monteath's narration is once again perfect.

Thoroughly Recommended.

A fantastic story

I loves this story, full of humanity (some at its worst). The main character is believable and very likeable. The other characters are so well drawn too. The narrator is fantastic. A credit very well spent. Need more from this author.
