A Great Sequel

I was eager to catch the second installment of this series and it really didn't disappoint. The story was much heavier than the first book with a lot more going on. There are many arcs that come together but in the moment, especially with the audio version, the book demands your attention otherwise you may miss out on some, what seem like minor plot details but actually contribute later in the book.

The story dives right into a fast pace and maintains it throughout the book. There are points where I feel as though we could have done with some breathing time - some moments where an event happens and the pace comes right back to allow it to sink in. However, considering the story unfolding it was justified to maintain the fast pace too. In some ways it maintained realism.

There's a huge amount of character development in this one and there's a lot you come away feeling satisfied with when you finish the book.

The narration, I really like Coles narration of the book. His voice fits the story perfectly and I wouldove him to continue the series as it (hopefully) progresses. This is one of the first series I've gotten into and looked forward to since joining Audible and I'm excited about the future of it. If I can note just one gripe with the narration (one I feel was highlighted especially in this book) it's that there isn't a whole lot of range in the different character voices. It is a nitpick but many of the characters sound very alike. That's not to say the narration isn't great though, just a minor gripe when listening.

Overall, I loved this installment and I look eagerly forward to the next! Keep up the great work guys!
