Blew my mind!

WoW. I thought the first two books were good, this book was so much better! It explains so much about what was happening in book 1 and 2. Some of it I kind of already guessed, but not to the extent explained in this book, wow, just wow!
Do not skip this book thinking it is a side story and not important to main story, it is most definitely important. You need this book as it explains so much about the worlds and so much more. I am not going to explain, it can't be without giving away spoilers.
Luke Daniels is Great as always, his narration really brings the story to life.
Congratulations to the author, you have me hooked, off to the next book!

Most think life owes them something, it doesn't

As suggested by the title, this book steps away from the ongoing story of The Game to look at its creator, Brandon, and the establishment and motives behind it. Having greatly enjoyed the immersive earlier books, at first this reader was reluctant to look outside, to perhaps have preconceived expectations dashed. Instead, the opposite occured and ideas were given even greater interest, the concepts, as well as Brandon, written large.

As always, the narration by Luke Daniels was excellent, read with good pace, clarity and intonation. The various characters, too, were well voiced, distinctive and appropriate. His reading enhances the experience of the book.

Interlude: Brandon could easily be read earlier in the series but, placed as it is as book three, this is definitely the optimum position. Having read the first two stories, the reader will surely have formed their own ideas of the Game and what it is from both information given and that deduced. This book the steps in to add to the understanding of what it really is, at the same time introducing new speculations.
Well written, gently building character and tensions, this is an excellent, unmissable part of the entire series.

Not a direct follow on from book 2

As the name suggests, this is an interlude from the main storyline and instead we're transported to the timeline of Brandon.
You might be a little lost at first as the book makes little to no suggestion about the story we know so far. However, folllow along and you'll be rewarded with insight with background depth that really setup the story of what you already know, and what's to come.

You could skip this book if you just wanted the main story line, or you could read it later in the series.

Good filler<br />

Better than the second book. Fills in a lot of background information. Hopefully it leads up to a great finale.
