Summary
Venturing into the unknown means pushing the limits of everything thought possible.
Ten years ago, the Ark II departed on a long journey through interstellar space, but shortly after they reached their destination, all communications ceased. All attempts to re-establish contact have failed.
Utilizing prototypical FTL technology that he invented, one brave man will lead a small expedition into the unknown to discover the colony’s fate.
The challenges of establishing the first interstellar colony nearly destroyed humanity. What new challenges will the second colony bring?

A good spinoff (sort of) of First Solony
This takes place 3 light years away from New Earth on a planet that turns out to be marginally inhabitable with an advanced culture already there. But its not at all as we know advanced life and they seem hostile. Its up to Sean and Noah in an FTL drive ship to come to the rescue. It makes a change from the constant violence in the prior books and provides a novel approach to what consciousness means. A good listen.

extremely disappointed
This was a reasonable story let down by the most awful trite and vapid dialogue making it a painful and torturous journey to make it to the end of this book.A pity really as I had enjoyed a lot of the previous books in this series. Only reason I finished it was that I had nothing else to listen to at the time!.
