Summary

Within the Pacific Northwest, in a plague ridden world, tensions are brewing between humans and supernatural beings. A rundown jail center on the outskirts of Portland, Oregon, a Native American shape-shifter name Yonuh, along with several other supernatural beings bust out and leave a wake of death and chaos behind them and now have become enemy number one for Zordic and his elite P.A.N.E.L. squad. Can this strange group survive together or will they end up killing each other before Zordic and his nefarious death squad can find them?

A Native American shapeshifter, a witch, a necromance, and a gremlin, living in an abandoned Costco, what could possibly go wrong?

Harem, sex and 0 story.

I was provided a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I've always liked sea monster stories, be it dinosaurs, sharks or giant cephalopods and so I was looking forward to this one.

The first thing I'll say that I liked is that the book is presented almost entirely from the human point of view. A few books I've read have scenes from the creatures POV and it never works as it humanised something that should be a Michael Myers of the ocean, striking suddenly and unseen. Here we witness the many deaths and destruction from a wholly human perspective and it works so much better.

Also, the author does away with extrenuous threats, so there are no spies, no pirates or gun runners impeding our heroes and so it fits more I to the world as we know it and it is all the more scary for it.

Speaking of the heroes, I really liked the majority of the cast but there was an awfully big cast to follow and, while he does a great job at narrating the book, there were simply too many for anyone to be expected to offer a distinct voice to each one but things would've been much worker without such a good reader! While they're not all hugely deep, it is always a brave move by the author hen people you view as indespensible or central can end up fish food and more than once I was shocked by this happening.

So yeah, a really good book with some awesome gore, a real sense of dread and threat and some very bribe moves. Highly recommended to lovers of undersea horror.

I was provided a copy of this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

I was really looking forward to this one, with its really interesting premises of a world where the fantastic races have reappeared due to a viral outbreak but sadly it wasn't what I'd expected.

With a Necromancer, Witch, Gremlin and Shapechanger I was looking forward to some amazing fight sequences and adve during but sadly, apart from maybe 3 small skirmishes, this was a harem story.

Entire chapters are dedicated to sex scenes and 90% of the book takes places in 1 location with people making out or expressing their feeling across 2 rooms and, even when we go elsewhere, it mostly degrades to either sex or bobsage torture.

There's really very little to say about the story as frankly there's not really anything here either for the listener or the narrator but they do a good job, adding voices to each character as well as assorted yelps and gasps...

It might be that the next books in the series contain more but I won't be partaking as this isn't my thing and feel the Summary needs a lot of work.
