About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

A Number 1
Sunday Times bestseller

Reacher had no idea where he was. No idea how he had got there. But someone must have brought him. And shackled him. And whoever had done those things was going to rue the day. That was for damn sure.

Jack Reacher wakes up, alone, in the dark, handcuffed to a makeshift bed. His right arm has suffered some major damage. His few possessions are gone. He has no memory of getting there.

The last thing Reacher can recall is the car he hitched a ride in getting run off the road. The driver was killed.

His captors assume Reacher was the driver's accomplice and patch up his wounds as they plan to make him talk.

A plan that will backfire spectacularly . . .

'There's only one Jack Reacher. Accept no substitutes.' MICK HERRON

Although the Jack Reacher novels can be listened to in any order, In Too Deep is the 29th book in the internationally bestselling series.

And be sure not to miss Reacher no.28, The Secret!

Dull

I have listened to every Jack Reacher at least twice and loved them. I thought No Plan B was showing signs of a struggle but this latest title left me feeling shortchanged. For any ardent Jack fan there were too many actions and plot elements that were things Jack just would not have entertained doing. Unless he was losing the plot of course, which is how this felt. Quit while you’re only just ahead chaps, you know it’s on its way out when listeners find their thoughts have drifted but they can’t quite be bothered to back-track.

Dreadful narrator

narrated in a monotone with the same voice for all characters. Reacher novels are becoming very formulaic

Reacher's back, pretty much

the first Child bros Reacher was pretty poor, the next better, and this third one improves yet again. it's almost up there with classic Reacher. almost.

the narration is solid, as ever.

Plot twists/development kept the intrigue.

I've read all of the Reacher books at least twice and this one sits in the middle for me. Enjoyable plot, a few holes in the plot (which is a bit more prone with the brothers collaborating)
I do find some reviews slating Jeff Harding bizarre. He personifies Jack Reacher very well, much better than Kerry Shale. I do listen at around 1.40 speed so maybe listening at a slower speed I can understand it would feel a touch laborious.
In summary I felt this was probably a better one of the recent books and a more classic Reacher-esque story. 7.5/10

Not very Reacher

The narrator was of a very good standard.
This is the poorest Reacher book I have read and I think I've read all of them. The story was confused and confusing and it had none of the flow of other of these books.
Disappointing

Not the Best

I have found the jointly written books by Lee Child and Andrew Child are not as good as the original ones written by Lee Child alone. I was almost bored in places with this latest offering and at times I wondered if they had sponsorship from ‘Uber’! What’s wrong with saying ‘ they got a taxi’ but it was constantly an Uber, which started to sound like running an advert during a film screening! Not sure I’ll bother with the next book, when there’s plenty of other fantastic authors out there…

Not worth Waiting a year for.

I found the story. Didn't really hang together at all and. was incomprehensible in places with little continuity. and And all in all, very disappointing.

Getting tired of Reacer

Perhaps I have read/ listened to too many Reacher books. This was ok but not one of his best. I doubt I will read/listen to any more. Thanks
