About this listen
It's the number one rule in this beach town: don't fall for a tourist.
But Jonah Lachlan isn't like any tourist I've ever met.
He's not here for a good time, that much is obvious. In fact, the brooding, boy-next-door cutie is clearly hell-bent on being miserable. Though he's here with his best friend, he doesn't seem interested in hook-ups. Or fun. The guy brought a book to this beach full of gorgeous single gay men, for crying out loud. Who does that??
And as if he couldn't be any more confusing, he seems superhumanly immune to anyone who flirts with him. Myself included.
Just one brief encounter with him on the boardwalk was all it took. Now I can't stop thinking about him. I'm sweating in places I didn't know I was capable. I'm at a complete loss to explain my feelings. I can't let this short weekend slip by and let a guy like that go. I don't care if he's a tourist. I don't care about our cardinal rule.
I'm going to break all the rules and dive in deep with this one.
Contains mature themes.

It’s a sweet story but omg the best friend is awful!
The story is cute and and easy listen other than the super toxic best friend who constantly bullies Jonah, and when you’d think he finally grows a backbone and have a talk with him, Jonah ends up apologising and not telling Rico any of the real issues??? So annoying, it literally ruined the whole book for me.

Needs a TW in my opinion for toxicity/bullying
Not yet finished, not sure I will. I kinda adore Kent and Jonah but the absolute toxicity of Rico really is pushing my buttons. All the blurb and reviews go on about a sweet story. But Rico is permanently pushing his views onto Jonah, ignores what Jonah likes, who Jonah is and honestly every time Rico turns up I just wanna punch him. He is a shitty friend, totally self absorbed and I hate him so much I really don’t know if I want to finish.

Excellent story👏👏👏
This was a beautiful love story with lovely characters and I enjoyed every second. It was full of laughs and tears and more laughs. I loved the narration and the HEA was absolutely perfect. I did not consider DNF’ing at any point, and don’t believe TW’s were required. Yes, the BBF Rico was immature, selfish, inconsiderate and self-absorbed but he was a peripheral character at best and did not detract from this beautiful story.
