 Susie's guest this week is Mike Males, the author of a recent Op-Ed titled "This is Your Brain on Drugs, Dad" (NYT, Jan. 3, 2007) and several books on the way society demonizes and fears teenagers. In his Op-Ed, Males says that contrary to the usual images of who abuses drugs, the real truth is that middle-aged, well-educated white people have the highest rates of drug abuse, with some of the most startling increases in the number of women in this group who are hooked on drugs. Susie asks Males more about these misrepresentations and why adults don't want to give teens a break.
