About this listen

An improviser's guide to embracing whatever life throws at you!

Pippa Evans is an expert in saying 'Yes' - and 'No'. She's a master of thinking on her feet but has also had to learn how to go with the flow. In this book she's passing on everything she's learnt from her award-winning improv career, as both a performer and teacher, so you can take centre stage in your own life.

In telling her story, delving into the craft of improvisation and sharing fun exercises and practice you can do at home, Pippa will help you become fully yourself - realising your potential and ability to adapt to the ever changing world around you. It's dangerous, being yourself, but let's just take it one step at a time. Start the audiobook, take a breath and get ready to say 'yes'.

Yes and!

Yes and it makes a change from all the other self-help books in that it is written by someone who has mastered their art and is willing to share the valuable lessons learned along the way.

Surprisingly practical and useful!

I have never done improv (even though I might after listening to this) but I was intrigued by the stellar reviews, so I bought the book. Pippa Evans exceeded my high and curious expectations. It's funny and practical - a new perspective on life and its daily challenges. Highly recommended.

Gospel according to Pippa

My new bible. The past is history, the future is an (improvised) mystery. Yes, and... enjoy the journey!

Great book

I LOVED this book! The book was well written and funny but incredibly informative. I hadn’t ever thought about improv in my daily life and found this book to be very insightful and from a completely new perspective. The exercises were really good and some of them I am going to go back and listen to again. Following my obvious is I think my favourite takeaway from the book. Pippa was also a good narrator and kept the story engaging which I think added to the overall feel of the book compared to simply reading it. Definitely would recommend!

Captivating and informative. Loved it!

I recently came across improv as part of a course on embodiment that I was doing. I wanted to get a better perspective on the topic and after a thorough research on the books and auhtors on audible I chose this one.

For someone who's had a little taster and is curious to dive a bit deeper this is a perfect listen. My interest is not only in tools and skills etc but also in how improv can be used to reveal thought and behavioural patterns, to gain awareness and improvE your life.

The book has a quite brief overview on the history of improv, lays the foundations by introducing basic terms etc used by improvisers, has examples illustrated by colleagues of the author and has chapters with exercise ideas to try out!
All of this is delivered with some humour, the narrative flows naturally and is easy to listen to. The author reads the book herself which I always find favorable and in this case it felt so much alive as if she was telling the listeners, rather than reading to them.

Thank you, Pippa!
