Summary
Some stars fall. Others...disappear.
My sister is gone, and no one seems to really give a sh*t about that but me. Everyone's made things about them, her memory only that, and I'm left to sort through all my own pieces. I'm alone in all this, and the dangerous boy with the green eyes ultimately leaves me too. I didn't know him like I thought I did. If I had...
I would have run sooner.
Warning: This enemies-to-lovers, high school romance contains some dark themes and light bullying. The book is not a stand-alone and is book two in a four-part series of full-length novels. Royal Prinze is the only hero of this tale...good luck getting him to share.

Fabulous
December has to come to terms that her sister is dead then she overhears her Dad and Aunt talking and thinks they don’t want her. She asks Royal to leave town with her but he sends his friend with one ticket to Arizona . There she has a rough time and sleeps on the streets some nights then she meets Ramses when she trying to hide from someone she hides in the library he works in . She finds out he’s from the same town and used to be in The Court too. She ends up being taken home and Ramses follows her a while later and tells her he had realised who she was. Everything comes to a head at a party when she hears Royal and his entourage threaten Ramses and she overhears something she was never meant to find out. #audiobookobssession #pinkflamingoproductions

Wowza the intrigue just keeps growing!
Illusions That May by Eden O’Neill
Book 2 in Court High Series.
Narration by Kasi Hollowell and Gregory Salinas
Falls where They The Pretty Stars leaves off. The reality that December’s sister really is gone. I absolutely love how Eden writes in a way that makes me able to see the past and how it’s all being pulled into what’s happening currently. And there’s so much happening too!
I’m loving this series it’s full of so many twists that I didn’t expect and there intrigue and angst. It’s leaving really desperate to find out more.
Kasi is brilliant again as December. Her performance really pulled me into her character. I’m feeling sorrow for the loss of her sister Paige, of her loss of both friendship and family when she needs it most. I’m rooting for her to find a happy place and to find answers.
Gregory Salinas is awesome as the ever changing Royal Prince, I don’t know if he’s still a hero or if he’s the villain. I do know he and the court are also hurting with finding out that Paige is gone.
Wow this series is really grabbing me and holding my full attention. The writing is done in a way that shows you different ways that this book is going to go and you think you have an idea what is up then WAM it’s changed again. I’m so excited to see what happens next, and another cliffhanger of an ending 😬

great writing
the writing for this series is just fantastic. the author does a great job describing and pulling you in. lots of mystery and non-stop changes for the main character but tends to happen when you want to write a long series. I'd recommend.

Enjoyed it
Illusions That May picks up right here the first book left off. This story was intense, mysterious, suspenseful and emotional with some twists and turns. Some questions were answered but many more arose. The story will have you at the edge of your seat wanting more and with that cliff hanger ending I can't wait for the next book.
Kasi Hollowell and Gregory Salinas did a fantastic job bringing out the emotions and characteristics of the characters. Their voices were clear and understandable with varying tones and they really brought the story to life. It was a pleasure listening to them narrate this novel.

Getting better and better
The story continues where "They the Pretty Stars" left off. We get more drama and answers, but at the same time (and I swear to God, I have a hard time processing how that's possible) even more clueless and addicted for each passing chapter! This story has me sucked in good, and the narrator is doing as great a job as ever. Highly recommended!!

Lots of Secrets
Illusions That May is captivating and intense. This book is full of twists and turns with things not being as they seem. There is lots of suspense, and I'm loving this story so far. We are introduced to Ramses who seems to be a nice guy but not everybody thinks so. I guess we'll eventually find out as the story progresses in the next book of the series. Kasi Hollowell and Gregory Salinas have done a wonderful job bringing these characters to life.

Book 2 in series
Now I can't wait for book 3 to be released on audio, as Illusions That May felt like a lot of set up for what I hope are the events in the next book. This one is less about action and more about emotional turmoil. There were a lot of actions/decisions that didn't make much sense to me. I just reminded myself that the characters are young and grieving. This is not a stand alone story. You must listen to/read They The Pretty Stars first, and the story isn't over.
I listened to the audio version. Kasi Hollowell and Gregory Salinas did an excellent job. I especially liked how both narrators showed an ability to project different ages.

Yes!
After I listened to book one I couldn't wait for the second book. I fell in love with these characters and the mystery kept my undivided attention. This book gave me some answers and some more questions. I'm excited to see what's to come in books three and four. 🎧Audiobook Obsessions 🎧 Pink Flamingo Productions

All The Pretty Stars
This is book 2 in the Court High Series and can't be read as a standalone. It starts right where They The Pretty Stars leaves off.
December Lindquist is shook, she just found out her sister is dead. The story doesn't add up. She's hurt, she's confused, she's a little pissed off, and she's very much overwhelmed. She doesn't feel like she belongs anywhere and just wants to get away. Then Royal drives a knife straight through the open wound in her heart.
When she leaves, she doesn't expect the outcome that she gets, but she's stubborn and does what it takes to keep going. Things aren't easy but she has made a place for herself and is starting to find a little bit of, dare I say, happiness. Maybe it's more like peace and acceptance. Either way she isn't as upset as she was when she left.
She meets somebody when she is there and is shocked by the connection they have, even though she isn't fully aware of how close a connection it really is. Then her life is upended yet again and she is brought right back to her own personal hell, even though she thought she had finally escaped. Then when the new kid shows up she is really confused, how is it even possible?
I loved this book so much! I love Ramses and I love their ease of relationship, but the twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat and then the book ends and I sit there flabbergasted wondering what else December doesn't know. What is truly going on and why? Who is the good guy and who is the bad guy? Is anything she learned true? How many more times are they going to completely blindside her and will she survive it all?
I have so many theories about what is actually going on and none of them are remotely the same. There are so many different players and ideas running through my head I don't know who to trust anymore. I don't know how I want things to end and I don't know if I trust the court or Ramses. I loved Royal so much in the first book, and then this book turned my world around and now I think I might hate him. I am angry with it all but I feel there is something more going on than what we are seeing and I hope with all I have that he is going to redeem himself! I really just want to see justice and see December find her happiness, whether it be with somebody or by herself, I just want to see her happy. She deserves it after the trials she has faced in such a short life.

Loving the series
Flock review. The plot keeps getting better by the minute, I was left in a cliffhanger on book 1 so of course, I needed this book. So many questions, such a mystery and suspense it's driving me to read them all in no time, the characters are fantastic. Royal Prinze is such an amazing book boyfriend, but December is my top favorite in the series. The audiobook is narrated by Kasi Hollowell and Gregory Salinas, do I really need to say more? These narrators are fantastic! The sound balance, editing, and mix were done perfectly. I can't wait to get the next one, I am so intrigued with the story, it has consumed me and I need more, all the twists and turns in the story have me engaged. Must-read or should I say listen as the audiobook is so good!
