Aiden & Scarlett!
Get ready for a spicy addition to the Mafia Wars! This picks up after the Illicit King and features Brody's brother Aiden and Alaina's sister Scarlett. These two had no dealings together prior to this, but due to a vengeance against Alaina's abusive, arranged marriage husband Tommy, he decided the first way to get to him was to take his wife. Kidnapping seems like the answer, but what Aiden doesn't realize is the spitfire Scarlett really is! Though she has been starved and and abused, he finds her energy attractive. The banter, the chemistry and the budding relationship between these two makes this time fly by. But we know things can't remain happy forever. What will happen when Aiden has to own up to his decisions? How will Scarlett deal with her captivity? Is there any way this could have a happy ending? Maggie Cole weaves a delicate web, with fast paced action and excitement while she builds the Irish bound clans. I am loving this direction the Ireland Clans are taking and can't wait for the next one.
With narrators like Wen Ross and Ava Lucas, I knew this was going to be fabulous. Ross comes in with his Irish brogue, giving Aiden a total alpha feel. He finds his center, gives him that overprotective feel, but does not diminish the dangerous side of him. Lucas is Scarlett and she knows how to make her come alive. She is damaged,but she gives her spunk and vulnerability creating that realistic feeling woman. Loved these two together!

Amazing storyline
This is a very emotional storyline as well as brutal. With a traumatic experience this leading lady really does put herself on the line. Written very well. A brilliant performance.

A Dark Mafia Forbidden Romance
Illicit Captor by Maggie Cole is a dark mafia forbidden romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Wen Ross and Ava Lucas. This is the second book in the Mafia Wars Ireland series.
I really enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Aidan and Scarlet. It was messy but you couldn't help but root for them. I liked that we got both of their points of views throughout the book.
I can't wait for the next book in the series Illicit Heir to be released on August 15, 2023, so I can get Devin's story.
Wen and Ava did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like dark romances, mafia romances, kidnapping romances, forbidden romances, age gap romances, or forced proximity romances.

Wow...
Its a story of a captor, an obsessed passionate lover. Its a saga of love , passion and drama, strength and resilience. This is Aidan and Scarlet's epic love story. Not only was it well written that will grasp you from the first moment but again the narration was on the point. Everything was unique in its own way. I cannot wait to listen to Illicit Heir.next!!
