About this listen
After years of keeping secrets and telling white lies, can one broken family find their way back to each other?
Audrey's family are falling apart. Her two grown-up daughters, Jess and Lily, are estranged, and her two granddaughters have never been allowed to meet. One secret that echoes back to 30 years before has splintered the family in two and is also the one thing keeping them connected. But as tensions reach breaking point, the irrevocable choice that one of them made all those years ago will inevitably rise to the surface and either split them apart for good - or bring them back together.
A moving novel full of heart about the people closest to us.

A bit depressing
Avoid this book if you want something to cheer you up. Quite a grim tale of far fetched sadness and loss.

So miserable
This book is a catalogue of all the horrible things that can happen to a person in their life! If you’re feeling depressed then don’t read this.. it’ll surely make you feel worse.

This is not a happy book
I dont really know where to start!
Narrator: was wonderful. She played each character really well and her own emotions were so obvious toward the climax of this story - it def had an impact to how much I cried!!. She did a great job considering the scene!!
Characters: my goodness. I hated 1 of them - Jess......Pitied another - Lily........and was incredibly frustrated with the last - Audrey. I loved Phoebe and Mia though and felt they couldve been developed a lot more which may have led to the main story line not feeling so drawn out.
Story: the personal tragedy of this family feels terribly unlikely and very drawn out. The big secret comes together really well, but could've arrived much quicker than allowed. I did nothing but cry during this book. Theres nothing heart warming about it. The big secret in itself was utterly heartbreaking!!
I advise to make sure you have a box of tissues when embarking on this book.

Secrets and lies at the heart of a family.
There is only one real message I want to give for this book - it is fabulous in every way. Once I had started it I found it very hard to break away from it. It moved me and entertained me and I would love there to be some sort of sequel.
Author and narrator both did a fantastic job. Thank you!
