About this listen
Bhric Tarakesh is drowning at the bottom of a scotch-filled barrel. One bad decision after another has led him to alcoholism, bar fights, alienation of his family, and the cherry topper of his shit sundae, impregnating a female he abhors.
As he spirals out of control, a cataclysmic event thrusts him into a human hospital and into the hands of a sexy doctor that sets his icy soul on fire, guaranteeing his world will never be the same.
Alex Layne, a prominent physician at Harborview Hospital is thrown into a world she thought was myth when a dying man is brought into her ER. While treating him, she panics when she sees his fangs, and makes an uncharacteristic decision to sneak him out of the hospital and harm's way.
And that’s only the beginning. As she helps him heal and recover, she discovers a new world of vampires, shifters, and demons. But that doesn’t compare to the lust and passion that leaves her craving the vampire’s bite.

Wow!
Bhric is an alcoholic Dark Warrior and his drinking problem is getting in the way of his relationship with his family, most especially with his twin. He is left for dead after being attacked outside a bar. A pivotal moment in his life because three critical things happen: 1. he is severely stabbed and ends up at the hospital where he meets Alex; 2. he ends up with amnesia; and 3. he is presumed dead by his family. Luckily for him, Dr Alex gets his case in the ER and instinctively protects him from exposure as a vampire. Long story short, she kidnaps him and takes him home. Dr Alex may be a survivor but nothing prepares her for what it means to be with her Iceman.
I really enjoyed this audiobook. I loved the characters because they are both intrinsically flawed and yet, somehow perfect. Their relationship is a thing of beauty because they both see each other clearly. The story does have its moments of angst as the demons continue to target the Dark Warriors and human race.
Alex Black does a great job of narrating the story too! Overall enjoyable!

Brick and Alex
Whilst the story was shorter than some of the others it still contained everything this series is about. Nothing was missing but what I loved was that had it not been for an unfortunate incident Brick’s life could have turns out so much more worse. Instead the fates had a different path for him to travel than the more destructive one he was taking. Alex is just so sweet. But she’s got but loads of courage. Going to enjoy seeing how her powers develop.
