About this listen
A classic thriller from the bestselling master of action and suspense.
The atomic submarine Dolphin has impossible orders: to sail beneath the ice floes of the Arctic Ocean, and somehow locate and rescue the men of weather-station Zebra, gutted by fire and drifting with the ice-pack somewhere north of the Arctic Circle.
But the orders do not say what the Dolphin will find if she succeeds – that the fire at Ice Station Zebra was sabotage, and that one of the survivors is a killer.

Rushed version ruins Macleans story.
Much original dialogue has been cut out diminishing warmth & camaraderie between the main characters.

One of Maclean’s best
It’s just a pity that this recording is spoiled by the addition of the totally inappropriate and unnecessary “dramatic” music

Another brilliant thriller from the master
A great tale well told, good performance all round. Michael Jayston fills out the characters easily.

very enjoyable audiobook
A very well read audiobook, Michael Jayston really brings the story to life and the suspense holds up extremely well right up until the end.
