Summary
A 5-year-old boy, Ethan, is brought to Casey in the middle of the night after the sudden death of his young mother after a drug overdose.
Estranged from her parents, Ethan’s mum had been abused by her ex-partner, and began taking drugs to cope. Ethan is obviously lost and bewildered, and regularly wakes up screaming for his mum in the night. He begins to lash out at other kids at school and his behaviour becomes more volatile. When arrangements are made for Ethan to see his dad in prison, Casey recognises the name and face… It turns out she’s far more familiar with this case than first imagined.

Amazing
This book kept me occupied and I listened to this in just one day, I think it's definitely worth it.
The narrator is a bit annoying to listen to at times, but she did a good job overall, I think it's definitely better than some of her previous narrations

Another great Casey Watson book.
This is the story of 5 Year old Ethan who is Taken in by Casey after his mother is found dead after taking an overdose. Ethan has a lot of issues such as outbursts of violence and needing to have control by exact timing of things. When Ethan goes to visit his dad in prison and Casey sees his face she realises that she’s closer to this case than she could have thought.
I loved the way Casey fought for what was best for Ethan and the professionals she had working with her on his case were also forward thinking and willing to assist her all they could. She was determined to help him have a better life than what he’d come from and was willing to do whatever was needed to make that happen. What I love about Casey as a carer is she’s not scared to challenge the professionals if she does not believe they are write. She does everything she can for whoever she is caring for and this was clear with Ethan. I also liked the fact that even when she found out who Ethan’s dad was she still continued to do what was best for Ethan and put him first even when it meant doing some things that were really difficult.
Another great offering this Author and I did not hesitate to rate this a 5 star rating. There is not one book I’ve read by this Author I’ve not liked.

A lovely down to earth story
I have now enjoyed four books by Casey Watson, this being the fourth. Love her natural gift of helping and caring for these children so in need of love, attention and care. It was interesting how the general system works and how it can be improved and supported by amazing decent foster families like Casey’s.

Terrible narration
I had to stop reading this. The narrator is way over the top, doing really strange accents and strange voices. I couldn’t stand it any longer! The story, I’m sure, was going to be heartbreaking and hopeful in equal measure, but I couldn’t listen to the end to find out.

Love Caseys books, hate the woman who reads them!
I always love Casey's books, however I cannot stand the woman who reads her books so I don't usually buy any of Caseys on Audible, I normally get them as an actual book on Kobo. I bought this book by accident and then forced myself to listen to it as I didn't want to waste the money. In Casey's books it is clear that she's from up North, doesn't stand for any nonsense and is confident and very caring. I love the team her and Mike make. Yet when listening to the voice on Audio book, she's got a southern accent which is off-putting from the start, knowing she's meant to be a northerner, and the way the part is read comes across as making Casey seem feeble, whinging and moody and Mike comes off as being stern and standoffish. It completely spoils it in my opinion, and from other reviews I've seen I'm clearly not alone in despising the reader,I desperately wish that Caseu would get someone knew to read her books out and then I could happily buy them all and listen to them all over again. Casey would make far more from her Audio books if this issues was dealt with.
